They’re paying Suh $14M to play NT? I’m sure he can do it but isn’t he mainly a one gap penetrating DT?

Who’s playing OLB? Last year was Quinn and the ghost of Connor Barwin. Ourlads says it’s Ethan Westbrook and Matt Longacre. Why not sign a pass rusher and save money by signing an actual nose tackle to play 1-tech? Dontari Poe maybe?

Withdrawn rule: 15-yard penalty for pass interference
What it means: Pass interference will remain a spot foul. The New York Jets had proposed a rule to change it to 15 yards, regardless of where it occurs on the field. This idea has been proposed before, but it gathered more momentum than in years past. Among those who supported it was New York Giants co-owner John Mara. Of the 303 such penalties last season, 129 were walked off more than 15 yards. But the Jets withdrew it before a vote, knowing it would not pass. Concerns remain about the incentive for defensive backs to commit intentional fouls beyond 15 yards to prevent big plays. The proposal made exceptions for "intentional and egregious" contact, but that distinction is considered too subjective for officials to make on a consistent basis.

Does this eliminate the QB sneak?

In theory. It would actually eliminate most football plays

They actually unanimously approved of this rule when there isn’t any actual language to the rule.

This is amputating the arm (from the shoulder) because of a hangnail.

Hall of Fame quarterback Jim Kelly underwent a 12-hour surgery on Wednesday to remove cancer from and to reconstruct portions of his jaw. On Friday, Kelly’s surgeon provided an update on the former Bills quarterback’s progress.

“Mr. Kelly continues to recover well,” Dr. Mark Urken said in a statement, via the Buffalo News. “In addition to his own incredible toughness, he is surrounded by an extraordinarily supportive family.”

The procedure included the removal of a portion of Kelly’s fibula, including soft tissue and blood vessels, for placement in his upper jaw. Kelly is expected to remain hospitalized for several weeks.

Most teams wouldn’t be eager to trade a 28-year-old future Hall of Famer with two more years on his contract at affordable salaries. But the Patriots aren’t like most teams, so the talk that Patriots tight end Rob Gronkowski could be traded has to be taken seriously. Given the history of Patriots coach Bill Belichick wanting to move on from players too early, rather than too late.

Belichick would much rather trade a player away when he can still get something valuable for him, rather than wait until that player gets older and loses a step, or until that player’s contract makes him harder to afford, or until that player hits free agency and leaves without the Patriots getting anything in return. The list of noteworthy players that Belichick has traded is long. Randy Moss, Chandler Jones, Jamie Collins, Richard Seymour, Logan Mankins, Mike Vrabel, Deion Branch, Drew Bledsoe, Matt Cassel, Jimmy Garoppolo and Jacoby Brissett, to name a few, have been sent packing by Belichick.

Albert Breer of SI.com reported that two teams are planning to make offers to the Patriots for Gronk. If those offers are good enough, it wouldn’t be at all surprising to see a trade made on draft day.
