And?

Agreed. I’ve got no issue with Stefanski. There is a reason he’s moved up fast and got a HC gig. The wrong job is always the Browns it feels like.

Paton was head of some great drafts and team building “per reporting” no doubt he earned that job. Also according to Kevin Warren, who sure has earned his value.

no way Rodgers wants anything to do with being in his HOF class and will fail to give a better speech than Brady. Rodgers wants to be the highlight of the night.

Agreed.  Not that there was a real threat that Rodgers was going to retire anyway.  Even when saying it, no one actually believes it.  Rodgers' talk about retirement are about as believable as Favre's were 10+ yrs ago.

Cowboys offensive lineman Jason Peters is now the NFL’s oldest active player.

Tom Brady announced today that he’s retiring at the age of 45, and that means the 41-year-old Peters is now the oldest player in the NFL.

Peters becomes an unrestricted free agent in March, and it’s unclear whether he will continue playing. If Peters were to retire, the oldest player would be Cardinals punter Andy Lee — who said last offseason that he was contemplating retirement.

After Lee, the oldest player in the NFL is 49ers kicker Robbie Gould, who turned 40 in December. Gould said yesterday that he is “nowhere near retiring,” so it’s safe to say there will be at least one 40-year-old in the NFL in 2023.

Mike Klis of 9News.com reports that Sean Payton will receive “somewhere between” $17 million and $20 million per year, on a contract that will last at least five years.

Payton reportedly had been seeking between $20 million and $25 million per year. The Dolphins were reportedly ready to pay him that much last year, when secretly courting Payton and quarterback Tom Brady.

The reality is that Payton may still get there. As previously explained, the highest-paid NFL coaches get more money off the books from sources other than the team itself. It’s a way to properly compensate the coach without further blowing the official compensation curve. And it’s permissible because there’s no salary cap for coaching.
