swede700
Apparently, Payton isn't a prick to just Vikings' fans... Quote A video shows the Saints head coach as he walked toward the tunnel following his team's 12-9 victory in Charlotte. As he approaches the stands, he can be seen tossing his visor up toward fans. The fan who caught it, clearly unhappy, chucks the visor back down toward the coach, who was out of the shot by that point. It's unclear if Payton was aware it was thrown back. https://www.theadvocate.com/new_orleans/sports/saints/article_6e1a0a02-02ce-11e9-b71a-57b1a8179b15.html

I'd say his credentials as an official, grade-F jerk were established long ago. There are many players and coaches no longer in the league who I miss watching, and more that I will miss when they leave in the future. Sean Payton is not one of them. vike daddy
Pete Carroll, 67, is the oldest coach in the NFL. Yet, he signed a contract extension Monday that will take him through the 2021 season. Carroll plans to coach another five years, at least, he said. https://profootballtalk.nbcsports.com/2018/12/24/pete-carroll-plans-on-coaching-another-five-years/

He's on roids or Fountain of Youth Juice. He looks young enough to be Vike Daddy's great grandson.... vike daddy
With multiple coaching openings coming and a Super Bowl-winning coach available immediately, one of the more intriguing stories in January will be the destination of Mike McCarthy. On Monday, Peter King wrote in his Football Morning in America column that he hears that McCarthy “likes Arizona and would be interested in exploring the job.” Of course, that job currently is occupied. Come Monday (or Sunday night), it may not be. https://profootballtalk.nbcsports.com/2018/12/25/where-will-mike-mccarthy-land/

Baker is going to be the type of QB that needs his receivers to get schemed open. McCarthy's system relies too much on WR's creating their own separation and a strong-armed QB able to make throws late in the progression. SemperFeist
I disagree that it’s built into McCarthy’s scheme. That’s just how Rodgers plays the game.

Plus, I don’t think McCarthy really ran his scheme with Favre. More like they ran Favre’s scheme, just like when he came to Minnesota. It certainly looked a lot different early in Rodgers career, when he was playing within McCarthy’s scheme rather than playing sandlot ball. But I really don’t think scheme matters with Mayfield. Mayfield is as "creative" a quarterback as any in the league. He also has receivers who know how to get open after Mayfield escapes the pocket! Plus, Mayfield has a plenty strong enough arm. He's going to be very good!!

He's going to be very good!! Has nothing to do with being “creative,” that was nowhere on my post. WRs creating separation, has nothing to do with QB creativity. He currently has receivers that are being creatively schemed open - you’re kidding yourself if you think the current corps of Browns receivers could slot into what the Packers offense has been under Rodgers/McCarthy and be as successful as the were this year. I think Baker is going to be a fine QB, but if McCarthy comes in and installs what they’ve been doing on Green Bay, I would expect him to falter unless the vastly improve the WR talent.
