nicfre2011
Dicaprio Bootle Pro Day: While others had strong showings, it was Bootle who stole the show running an impressive 4.38 40 yard dash, a 36.5” vertical leap and 10’6” bridge jump. Bootle’s time is impressive which would have tied for third fastest at the 2020 NFL Scouting Combine. His vertical leap and broad jump numbers weren’t elite but still higher than the combine averages which isn’t a surprise since he showed good explosiveness on tape. Having a strong 40 time will help show teams he can run deep with receivers and combined with some good ball production in 2018 should make him very impressive to teams. https://www.msn.com/en-us/sports/other/nebraska-football-pro-day-results-dicaprio-bootle-turned-some-heads/ar-BB1eTAFB Cornerback Dicaprio Bootle, my highest ranked 2021 Nebraska prospect on the defensive side of the ball, measured 5-feet-9.5-inches and 180 pounds. He touched 36.5 inches in the vertical jump and 10-feet-6-inches in the broad jump. He also completed 16 reps on the bench. Bootle’s 40-yard dash time came in at 4.44 and 4.45 seconds. He also posted a short shuttle of 4.03 seconds and a three-cone time of 6.77 seconds. https://www.profootballnetwork.com/nebraska-pro-day-2021/

Herring ranks as a 4th round pick, which we can have for just some cash. He ranks ahead of Kaindoh, whom we did take in the 4th round. None of the others is a head turner, but most of them grade as draftable. At the least, some of them may stick because of ST potential. It would not surprise me to see Devon Key make the 53 at some point this year. J
onejayhawk
One of the UDFA LB is also a potential FBhttps://chiefswire.usatoday.com/2021/05/04/kansas-city-chiefs-undrafted-free-agent-riley-cole-south-alabama-could-play-fullback-linebacker/ At 6'2", 240lb Cole looks the part. He play offense in HS and the Chiefs worked him out as a FB during his pro day. J
onejayhawk
This is a veteran FA, but possibly an important move. The Chiefs sign veteran S Willie Parks. He's the sort of box S/LB hybrid that is getting more play these days.https://www.yardbarker.com/nfl/articles/chiefs_to_sign_safety_will_parks/s1_14819_34828670 J

onejayhawk
A bit more on Correa. He's at least a warm body to throw in the DE mix. https://chiefswire.usatoday.com/2021/05/05/kansas-city-chiefs-signing-free-agent-lb-kamalei-correa-jacksonville-jaguars-tennessee-titans/ The team also signed WR Chris Finke, bringing the total of receivers to 14.https://chiefswire.usatoday.com/2021/05/05/kansas-city-chiefs-signing-free-agent-wr-chris-finke-notre-dame-san-francisco-49ers/
KC_Guy
With that the Chiefs have 91 players on the roster ... eehmm .. nope - they must have released someone ... if all the UDFA reported actually signed. Confirmation still pending ... Edited May 6, 2021 by KC_Guy
onejayhawk
There is a new name, Jaylon McClain-Sapp. He's small and fast. https://chiefswire.usatoday.com/2021/05/13/kansas-city-chiefs-undrafted-free-agent-signing-jaylon-mcclain-sapp-marshall/ Here is the list: BYU DB Zayne Anderson Nebraska DB Dicaprio Bootle SMU QB Shane Buechele Louisville DB Marlon Character South Alabama LB Riley Cole Georgia DE Malik Herring Western Kentucky DB Devon Key Marshall DB Jaylon McClain-Sapp
onejayhawk
FBO, in their quick hits on the division, had this to say on UDFA. Quarterback Shane Buechele (SMU) could be Andy Reid's Case Keenum. Though Buechele lacks ideal arm strength and can run hot and cold against pressure, he throws with quality accuracy and can generally keep the ship afloat from a decision-making perspective. Buechele will not create explosive plays, but he could do enough as a spot starter to keep the team above water if need be. Linebacker Riley Cole, who played both strong-side linebacker and inside linebacker at South Alabama, could also earn a roster spot in a pretty middling Chiefs linebacker room.https://www.footballoutsiders.com/four-downs/2021/lack-edge-rushers-could-bite-chiefs-and-chargers
