Sugashane
OK, first I'm not bashing Pace's draft, just from the top two picks alone he got an A++ from me. That being said I like to do real time mocks and wanted to see what you guys came up with. I took all the same trades Pace did, if you want to go to the original slots instea d go for it. Mine: 1(11) - QB Justin Fields (OSU) 2(39) - OT Tevin Jenkins (OKS) (151) - OG/OC - Trey Smith (TEN) 6 (217) - ILB/OLB Charles Snowden (VIR) 6 (221) - WR Josh Imatofjfndndnndn (sp?) (UoI) 6 (228) - WR Tevin Grimes (FLA) 7 (250) - OG/OC Alaric Jackson (TEN) *** TE Sammis Reyes would have been my 250th pick. I didnt realize he was available since NFL.cpm didn't have him listed. So I'm with him 100% on the first two picks. I'd have made the exact same moves, Fields was my QB2 and it wasn't even close between him, Wilson and Lance. Jenkins was someone I would have been very happy with at 20. He's a bad man and will be the bully I've been begging for to be on our OL. Our OL wasn't good last year overall. Daniels was looking great but got hurt (hopefully healing well), Mustiphee was better than expected but a bright spot on a dark whole, Whitehair had some good and bad games, Ifedi was the same, Leno is spiraling to the dumpster and Massie was meh at best. Trey Smith is a monster in the same mold as Jenkins. If it wasn't for the blot clots he'd have been a 1st round pick. From where I stand, Daniels may not be recovering and both Mustipher and Whitehair need competition. The best 3 will see the field, and yes I'll have Smith trying to snap too. As a C he has a crazy anchor and would help against the monster 3-4 NTs. Keep Fields clean. Snowden has crazy length and can fit into Floyd's old role or Kwit's as the enforcer who let's Smith roam and make plays. At worst he can be depth across 3 LB spots, maybe can be developed into a passrusher as well. Wims and Ridley do nothing and Goodwin might be little more that a speedy decoy. Miller has his time ticking away, so we need to try to develop some talent for our franchise QB. They need to grow into a system and get reps together. Josh has crazy physical tools and can be developed for a few roles. High pointing in the endzone, speed to keep safeties back, etc. Grimes has the same perks as as Josh. If we can retain ARob, then we have ARob, Mooney, Josh/Grimes as the top 4. That's a lot of speed and athleticism to pair with our RBs and Kmet. Alaric will be tied at OT bit if he can't hang there (as I would expect) then I move him to primarily be a C, but he'd get work at all the IOL. He isn't strong enough to anchor against the strongest guys yet but he is athletic and would be able to pull and get to the 2nd level. Sammis is a freak of nature, his RAS was even higher than Pitts. Former basketball player and I would have been over the moon to add him with Kmet. Kmet can stay in his role and Sammis would be the move end, likely lining up and moving like Graham did at NO. *** When it comes to OL I want basically 5 OTs starting, a swing OT, and an IOL who can snap. Invest regularly, invest often, purge any weak links. Again, snagging the QB and OT I've been begging for was awesome and automatically made it an A+ draft, I just don't know anyone but the big guy we picked until after they were picked. Who were some of the guys you all picked up?
Madmike90
1(11) - QB Justin Fields (OSU) - Goes without saying. 2(39) - OT Tevin Jenkins (OKS) - Goes without saying. (151) - DE Daviyon Nixon (IOWA) - I think we need more help on the DL especially considering Hicks won't be here next season...we could have planned ahead. 6 (217) - WR Seth Williams (AUB) - Different type of WR who would have added size and physicality to our backup room...better pro than he was a college player. 6 (221) - CB Kary Vincent Jr (LSU) - More athletic CB than Graham and for me an out and out nickel back. 6 (228) - RB Jermar Jefferson (ORS) - More physical and more of an every down back than Herbert. 7 (250) - S - Paris Ford (PIT) - Terrible pro day...great tape...would be worth the risk.

I love me some Daviyon Nixon, and would be tickled pink if he was a Bear, but...losing that third round pick to get Jenkins? Doing back to back OTs became the right thing to do. It's a fun way to see when I'm good on my "scouting" and when I'm clearly an armchair GM. Sometimes I hit home runs, sometimes I'd have been better forfeiting the pick. Lol.

OK, just don't let it get carried away. I already drank a beer with my pizza tonight and I don't want this to get outta hand. 🤣🤣

Plus my 6ths and 7ths all went undrafted too I think, so maybe I did poorly. Lol.
dll2000
In one weekend, Bears went from team having worst offseason aside from Texans to one of best.
