2021 Jets Season: Misc. Talk

I just read that he did pass on. It seems that there have been so many bike accidents in the last year. I know Shawn Bradley the 7' 6" basketball player got hit and now he will never walk again. There have been several bikes hit by cars when a group of people go for bike rides. I guess people just don't see them. There was no drugs or alcohol in the drivers system so it looks like a horrible accident.

Some states don’t allow you to ride on sidewalks and have designated bike lanes but cars still abuse those lines and that’s often how so many accidents happen.

People have a terrible understanding of reading traffic lines and it’s frustrating because things like this are avoidable.

I truly wonder what the driver saw/didn’t see and how the accident occurred.

Lots of things play into this. For starters people on their cell phones while driving is a huge cause of a lot of accidents. Wouldn’t surprise me at all if that’s the case with this tragic event, since the driver was sober.

BUT……. Not sure how it is in other states… bike riders are awful here in TX. Taking back roads that are 2 lanes when there’s major roads with sidewalks parallel with the road. Not on sidewalks when they could be. Thinking they’re cars, when they’re clearly not (I.e. doing 15mph in 40mph areas). Think they always have the right away.

I truly believe there needs to be more clear rules for bike riders and roads. The line seems grey. And it’s hard as car drivers to not get annoyed by them at times.

I've been driving for 50 years, and not just as an every day driver with skills needed to be a competent driver. I've driven cabs in N.Y.C. for a private cab co. and was a letter carrier for the postal service for 18 years.

I have seen terrible decisions made by people who were oblivious to their surroundings ignorantly put others in harms way.

Just "plain bad drivers" while others were casual dangerous drivers, likewise I have seen good drivers.

Now to put into perspective my driving education, when you are a postal employee almost on a monthly basis you are reminded to keep the public safe with driving habits.

We see film, have specialist come in and point out how the public in general will allow dogs out which will run in front of the truck, children wanting to get mail from the mail man and run out in front of the truck or behind the truck.

I have found driving defensively will save your butt more times than you can imagine, yield to drivers if it means being safe both for you and them. Be courteous behind the wheel, it is a practice which is contagious and other drivers will emulate.

Trust no one, don't trust the signals, keep vigilant, but don't be paranoid. See the entire field, use your mirrors, know your surroundings.

The death of GK was surely avoidable, and I am truly saddened by such a terrible tragedy, and the person who is responsible admitted his error. It won't bring back Greg and the specter of having to live with the fact that a life was lost due to one's negligence will forever be a reminder of how one bad decision could cost an innocent live.

RIP Greg Knapp,

Yeah it’s bad for both bike riders and drivers, not really a clear black and white way to see things.

Brian Poole to NOLA. So no return there.

I really like our slot CBs so despite being a really solid CB I'm fine with that.  Would love to see Nelson here though.  It would allow Pinnock and Dunn to ease into playing time rather than be forced into action.

I have zero faith in Austin and wouldn't be shocked to see him cut if we sign Nelson.

I don’t think we have interest in Nelson nor does he have interest in us.
