I have never seen Wilson play a down of football anywhere, but this kid made plays today that Darnold, could never make in all the years he was with the Jets, all Wilson's passes were right on the money even the passes that were broken up. Wilson sees the whole field, fines the open receiver. He looks like a ballerina when he is in the pocket, when it time for him pass his body is in perfect position. rickyt31 Posted August 21, 2021 Share Posted August 21, 2021 I can't really pull too much out of this game but the offense looked solid. Definitely heading in the right direction there. Watching some of our defensive starters get handled by GB's JV team was rough to watch. A couple of guys looked good, but it wasn't until GB's last string was out there. In the last thirty years we have drafted several pass rushing DE's in the first round several times, the only ones that were any good were Shawn Ellis in the 2000 draft & Muhammad Wilkerson in the 2011 draft, & Mo was washed up by his 28 birthday. But regardless we are in a great situation to make this team young and talented Yeah we were doing fine till we got hit with two key injuries on defensive, those two injuries have affected our plans for this year. The only other preseason injury that affected the Jets was in 1970 or 1971 ( no sure of year ) when a Lion LB hit Namath with a cheap shot and knock him out for 90% of the season.. When you consider what Douglas & Saleh did in one draft, to start to build a team it is amazing, getting a QB, rebuilding the O line and loading up on good young receivers, and FA pickups.
