I just wish we weren't light on resources next year. It would be nice to have some extra resources to go all in on Fields year 2.

he's likely a 1st next year. would have been at worst a 2nd this year

Im not getting the sarcasm with this comment, we literally drafted the toughest Olinemen in this class, Im saying Wims is also tough. Are you saying being big and punching dudes in the mouth isnt tough? I dont want him to be stupid obviously, and we can debate that, but you saying punching a guy on an NFL field isnt tough is just non-sense, and there is no argument about his size either

We should have Foles and Daltons money off the books with a cap increase I believe....next year is kind of a FA type of year with a 2nd added on.

Like this pickup, I think Miller is gone and probably Ridley too. Wims plays special teams, has a big body and a nasty streak so we will see

Wims is also not very good at NFL football. In his 3rd season in 2020 he played 294 snaps on offense last year and only managed 6 catches, 48 yards and 1 TD more than I did despite the fact that Anthony Miller’s regression gave him every opportunity to grab a decent target share. But, he did manage to get himself kicked out of a game for punching a guy and also had the biggest drop of the entire season in our playoff game.

Honestly, I can’t believe he’s still on the roster now. I don’t see any reason he might be come September. He’s not even quality depth and, assuming health, ARob, Mooney, Goodwin, Byrd are all gonna be ahead of him in the pecking order for sure, Miller too if he’s still here, and probably Newsome. That puts him as WR7 even if he manages to beat out Ridley (far from a given). I definitely would like to see us have a reserve WR with some size, but it should be someone who offers more than Wims will if he’s forced onto the field. He’s had 3 years to show us what he can bring which is a long time for a 7th round pick. What that has turned out to be is the very definition of just a guy.

Im not calling him Brendon Ayenbadjeo(spelling haha) , but some players are just ST guys and like 5th string at their positions

Also who is the PR/KR cause Patterson is gone and a good chance Miller is too

With his lack of offensive production Wims would have to be a pretty damn good ST player to justify keeping his roster spot. At least with Patterson he was a top tier returner and a stud gunner on punt coverage teams. Wims plays on coverage teams but he’s not a standout there. I don’t see anything for Wims to hang his hat on to justify him getting that last WR roster spot over a comparably sized random player who still shows potential offensive upside.

It would make sense to me for Cohen to take on both roles, especially with the addition of Damian Williams as Montgomery’s primary backup and the additions of several other speed players in the passing game on offense. His offensive reps are likely to be at least somewhat reduced. Making him both KR and PR puts the ball in his hands more in situations where he can hopefully provide an explosive play.

Yup.  Javon Wims has topped out as a receiver.  I suspect it's his blocking that's allowed him to play more snaps than he probably should but I see no reason why Ridley can't take his place.  Beats me why he hasn't gotten more looks.  He's not exactly a little guy.

If Nagy still believes in Wims as a pass catcher and we're looking for someone to replace Graham in 2022 maybe moving him to a "U" TE spot to compete would make sense.  But even there I just don't see him as having enough talent to make a difference.

I feel you, but you are telling me a player coming off an ACL injury is now the primary KR/PR, Also the backup RB

Plus, I just meant who are the regular players on ST, Wims for sure is an asset

yes, that's exactly what i'm saying. just because you're big and punch someone doesn't mean you're tough. anybody anywhere can punch someone, that doesn't make them tough. punching someone on a football field (again, doesn't make it tough) is also extremely stupid because a) CGJ was wearing a helmet, b) he was playing a game and the punch hurt his team, and c) he honestly looked like an idiot doing it - he like, jumped up, but also kinda missed...?

We've got a handful of guys who've had at least some experience as KR and/or PR guys including a couple of the rookies.

Cohen has been a top PR guy but never a KR specialist.  He'll likely stay in that role unless someone else beats him out for it.

We'll still need a #1 KR to replace Patterson to come out of camp this summer.  Khalil Hebert who was a KR in college is probably gonna be at least one of the prospects.

On other topics entirely we seem to be in need of someone to backup Kmet at "Y" TE.  Any thoughts on who we might target or will they be content to keep Holtz in that role?

How about ILB.  There are still a few unsigned FA to be had or are we set with Jones and either Iggy or Woods?

Pace says they're keeping a close watch on players they feel may be released or available for trade post June 1st.  Is there anyone in particular anyone believes we should pursue should they become available?
