London Irish have been relegated from the Premiership after one season back in the top flight of English rugby.

Relegation for the Exiles, who do not play until Sunday, was confirmed after Worcester secured a four-try bonus point in their game against Harlequins.

It is the second time in three years Irish have been relegated, with just three wins from 20 games in 2017-18.

Global insurance brokers Gallagher have been confirmed as new title sponsors of English rugby union's Premiership.

Premiership Rugby announced a multi-year partnership with Illinois-based Gallagher, starting on July 1.

The widely-expected announcement will see Gallagher succeed Aviva as title backers of the English game's flagship competition, which will be known as Gallagher Premiership Rugby from next season.

Quick note on the finals...

Congratulations to Cardiff. They did it the hard way, coming from behind to pip Gloucester in the 79th minute. Unfortunately for the Gloucester men, this is a classic case of the one that got away.

And... Well done, Leinster. Thoroughly deserving champions. Brilliant campaign. Shame the final was a try-less stinker.

Yeah, the standard of rugby in the final was atrocious. Shame, because the tournament overall was of a high standard.

Leinster definitely deserved it for the way they played all tournament. But, the Teddy Thomas blunder pretty much handed the game to them.
