biggie.
Dwayne Bowe went from being a decent receiver in KC that would have been better with an upgrade at QB, to being completely worthless in CLE and out of the league.

Thomas5737
OBJ was a top tier #1 WR as a rookie. He was a high end #1 WR his 2nd year. His 3rd year he was a low end #1 WR, he did have the volume stats that year but the efficiency went down considerably both years after his rookie campaign. Then he suffered injuries but he was already on a fairly sharp decline as far as catch percentage (70 to 60 to 59), yards per target (10 to 9 to 8 ) and his yards per game dropped about 12 yards each year even though his targets went up each year. So maybe injuries are to blame from his 4th year on but they are much closer to what he did in year 3 (minus the volume) than what year 3 was compared to year 1 or even 2 and that was before injuries. Josh Norman was so good even Jay Z said he wasn't normal. Gurley is obviously injury related, he was having a historic season. By midway he turned around rapidly. Matts4313
Nmandi is the clear cut answer. As for the Cowboys listed (Murray, Lawrence and Dez) those are all examples of gross misuse of scheme fit along with injuries. Dez broke every bone from his pinky toe to his hip.. JAF-N72EX
Haynesworth, Merriman, Bell, and Boston are all good mentions. I'd also throw Tommie Harris' name in the hat too. He was a dominate (very underrated) player for 4 years in a row starting at the age of 20 and was a big reason the Bears made it to the SB in 2006. When people talk about the Bears defense in the mid 2000's they mention Urlacher, Briggs, and Peanut but Harris was right up there with those guys in terms of importance to that defense. He was a high motor guy that didn't stop with a good mix of speed and strength. He was great at breaking the pocket, stopping the run, and rarely ever missed a tackle. I'll swear till this day the Bears win the SB if Tommie plays in that game. The REAL SBMVP was Rhodes.....not Manning. Manning won it by name recognition only. Rhodes was effective all game long from the start whereas Manning was ineffective for most of 3 quarters. The Bears were getting shredded up the middle and I guarantee this doesn't happen with Tommie in the game, and he puts even more pressure on Manning. It's a shame that outside distractions got to him to a point where his head wasn't in the game anymore and he just fell off.
49ers fan
Not the most shocking but I was pretty hyped to get Darrel Jackson from the Seahawks. Too bad he hand brick hands.
Fixxxer
Dareus was a beast, but hanged his cleats after signing his first fat contract. He was involved with drag racing and was arrested for felony possession of synthetic cannabis. McDermott got rid of him because he saw a guy with all the talent in the world but that was a sure detriment to what he was trying to build. A shame, because Dareus could have helped this Bills team from the middle of the line. He would have enjoyed playing in this rotational, attacking system, McD employs with the D. I think he went to the pro bowl or was an all pro his rookie either or if iirc year, then injuries started piling up and was never the same. Injuries and ego. He got a ridiculous amount of coverage for that one marvelous catch. Then I'd see him miss routine catches trying to make them flashy one-hander's instead of focusing on just catching the d*** ball.
ET80
Janoris Jenkins? Wasn't he really good for a bit, and then fell off? Same question on Marcus Peters? Or is he still good?
ET80
DJ Swearinger comes to mind as well. Had one great year after a few mediocre to bad years in Houston, then fell off after he got paid.
