The Texans offense becomes tehOSU South. The plan is to build through the draft from the ground up.

Draft

**Trade: 2, '24 3rd for 5, 20, 37, 52, 123**

Chicago trades down for the haul to Indy for plug-and-play Bryce Young. They want to win now.

Houston are looking at the team as a total teardown and have three guys they like at QB, as well as an eye to next year if needed so they elect to move down as the Seahawks offer a ransom to move up. Young goes #1, the Seahawks sell the world for Richardson. Carter and Anderson go off the board 3 and 4. The Texans sigh as one of their guys is left. Otherwise it would have been whoever was left of Carter and Anderson for Ryans to develop or else a trade-down involving a future first.

    **Trade: 12, Cooks and a 4th for #8.**

Houston moves up to pair Stroud with Johnson. Time to continue plan-A. Time to move on for the malcontent Cooks.

**Trade: Laremy Tunsil for Jalen Ramsey.**

Tunsil is moved in a rare 1-for-1 after drafting Paris Johnson. The trade was agreed upon beforehand for if the Texans drafted an LT high. The word has been that he wants out, per usual, though it quieted down enough to maintain his value. Fans will rage at first but then celebrate when Demeco uses Ramsey properly. Tunsil will come in and be valuable for the Rams, as well as getting extended as the highest paid tackle in the league.

The griddle is still hot:

**big trade sending pick 2 for 4, 35, and D. Buckner**

**traded away Tytus Howard for pick 50 from TB to let them pay him and instead grab Dawand Jones who was slipping a bit**

**traded away CLE '24 1st, 33, 73 for pick 10 to grab Paris Johnson**

**Traded away Davis Mills for two late 7ths and a '24 4th from GB**

**Traded away CLE '24 4th, DAL '24 6th, HOU '24 2nd as part of trades to move up to 28 to get Van Ness and to get pick 88 to grab Luke Wypler**

Net: Houston has all '24 picks except 2nd rounder. Picked up '24 4th from Green Bay and D. Buckner from Indy.

Summation: Houston gets three blue-chip talents in a draft with only maybe 15 true top talents. Van Ness has high boom/bust but is young, ultra-athletic and going to the right place. Stroud is surrounded by a supportive coach and a GM who goes hard at offense in this draft though brings in a top DT and also a first round pick on edge.

3 round mock. Traded down with the Cardinals, got Hopkins back, then traded down again with the Raiders. Thought Carter might fall to me at 7, settled for Nolan Smith. Then we pair JSN with Hopkins while we wait on Metchie, and lock up Hendon Hooker at the top of the second round. Doubled down on pass rusher with Ojulari after taking Smith earlier. That would be a nasty combo for a long time I feel like.
