Dwayne Stephens is a great guy but he can't even get a job at a mid major so why would you hand him the keys to MSU? I'm sure he could've been hired at another program but is likely the head coach in waiting. Duke will likely have a max exodus from our roster following this season, it'll be extremely interesting to see how well we recruit in the 2022 class. The reason Scheyer was given the job was because he's supposed to be a great recruiter, let's see how many guys want to come to Duke knowing that he'll be the head coach.

I think our 2022 recruiting class will provide an excellent gauge for how well he will do leading the program. His calling card while being on the staff is that he's an excellent recruiter. If we're able to land a top class when guys know they'll be playing for him, that's an encouraging sign. If we can't I think that we're headed to dark days soon.
