But at this point it's pretty difficult to fit 3 max contract players on a roster, unless 1/2 are already there or sign there in free agency, and the team has enough assets to trade for a third?

Correct.  Assuming that the salary cap for the 2022-23 season is set at $115M, and you've already got a 10+ year veteran on the roster you're giving them 35% of the salary cap which would be $40.25M.  Factor in the 9 roster holds (let's assume 900k is the minimum salary), you've got another $8.1M in salary which pushes a team to $48.31M which would leave a team with just $66.65M in cap space.  If you had a 7-9 year vet, you'd be giving them $34.5M which would leave just over $32M which isn't enough to give a max contract to any player with 7+ years of experience.  Someone would have to take a paycut.

The only two teams that I could really see forming "super teams" relatively soon are the Mavericks or Celtics if they're able to pull off a trade for Lillard. Dallas, IIRC would still have cap space for a third max guy with Luka/Lillard there or could sign two max guys next off-season if they dump KP. And the Celtics could be a super team if they trade for Dame without giving up Brown or trade for Dame while moving Brown then sign a max guy next summer.

What are we calling a super team?  One with 3+ stars?  Still think Dallas needs to find their co-star to Luka Doncic before we talk about them making a super team.  And Boston doesn't have the assets to get another star without giving up Jaylen Brown IMO.

Ty Lue tries anything

Suns are gonna win this series obviously, but the Clippers resiliency under him has been commendable.

No way the Lakers would be doing this. We lost AD and all the role players looked defeated as hell.

Exactly, zone defense has a place in today’s game. Don’t think you can play it all game, but definitely should be used as a way to cause confusion and throw off rhythm.

Yeah that guy (Jay) who is a Clippers fan has been calling for them to use it more sooner and said they have to switch it up though. Right before Phoenix went on that run.

I agree though it definitely has its place. Really liked how Miami/Spo utilized it last playoffs.
