What were/are some of your favorite NFL centers?

There is a story about Jack Rudnay, Pro Bowl C of the 70s and early 80s. When Rudnay joined the Chiefs, they were about to win their first Super Bowl. Then the team lost the famous triple OT game to Miami and spiraled into a bad period. In 1974 they drafted a QB from Kansas named David Jaynes, who promised to return them to glory. 

By the time the training camp pads were on, Rudnay had had enough of the mouthy young QB. So, he took an old uniform, unstitched the seat, and went out to do warm ups. No one noticed, or at least, no one said anything. The first time they lined up for scrimmage, Jaynes checks down the line then looks down for the snap. What he sees is Rudnay's bare pink ***, so he jumps back. Expecting this reaction, Rudnay snaps the ball through the end zone, effectively ending practice until the coaches can sort things out. What was said is not known. What is known is that David Jaynes, the franchise's savior, had only two career passing attempts, no completions, one Int.

Kreutz was a beast, was undersized but between strength and great leverage he blocked like a 340 pounder. Mean too.

BTW, pretty radical how different Mark Stepnoski looks these days. Would never think he played as an NFL center.
