He creates confusion and mistakes that other players can take advantage of. They knew that two guys needed to block him there, but didn’t know where he was going to go and which two would have the responsibility. Almost never is it that big of a mistake, but double teams and triple teams that allow guys to go unblocked at the Quarterback happen often. All because he’s such a threat that guys get so caught up trying to block him that they forget about who might have to take on someone else.
