Of course. It was never going to be anything different. Everything else was smoke and mirrors from him and his agent trying to leverage the situation.

In five minutes you should post this again

His off-season drama was kinda a win-win for me overall. If he leaves, Green Bay is finally depleted of an elite qb for the first time in like 30 years but if he stays, he caused such a stir that the packers aren’t going to be reeled in or focused like in years prior. He’s become a cancer

Its because you believe that Green Bay will be right back at the top of card with Love. Yes, it worked with Favre/Rodgers, but that is NOT the norm. Its because you think good QB is a given in GB. Again, not the case. It is MUCH more likely that you struggle to find an answer at QB than it is that Love is the third coming in as many tries. However, instead of living in reality with that, its oh no we will be fine either way.

Wow.  Way to paintbrush and entire group of fans based on your own assumptions!

I certainly don't feel like GB will be "right back at the top of card with Love".  We certainly weren't with Rodgers right away.

It's a process.

Rodgers has been a process too.  And we've fallen short, often times way too short too often.

For some of us fans, we actually like seeing new things, and seeing how they will work out.  We actually believe in our process as an organization.

But carry on with your narrative.  It's paintbrushing, but if that helps yah, have at it.

He’s the absolute worst

A microcosm of this entire situation:

Step 1: Team Aaron Rodgers leaks a little nugget to the media that is cryptic.

Step 2: Media generates headline with their own spin/opinion due to vagueness of info.

Step 2b: Fans get sucked into it and believe what they read and opine.

Step 3: Someone else chimes in that regarded as at least "somewhat knowledgeable" that is also somewhat cryptic (and in this case, a joke).

Step 4: Media runs with THAT since it contradicts something someone else reported.

Step 5: Minutes/Hours/Days/Weeks pass by with manufactured storyline

Step 5b: Fans get sucked into it and believe what they read and opine. But now it's different than their opinion minutes/hours/days/weeks earlier because it's a different headline now.

Step 6: Aaron Rodgers soaks up all the attention, ego growing by the second

Step 7: Nothing interesting/newsworthy actually happens

Well, yeah, unless he was (or his reps had blown enough smoke up his backside to have him believing) that the team was going to trade him without being able to at least get an immediately-usable cheap starter option (i.e. a 1RP for the current league year) as part of any deal for him.  If he was so serious about this that he was actually willing to retire/sit out the season, he'd have been raising that level of stink pre-draft (possibly even pre-FA).  Gotta give Rodgers credit for not being that naive.
