Because the Suns would be committing 3 yr/$140M to a 36 year old CP3 while refusing to commit 5 yr/$158M to a 23 year old Ayton? Some weird things have been going on since the bubble with Siakam and the team. With Lowry on his way out this off-season coming off of a disappointing year I think the Raptors brass is trying to accelerate a rebuild. Siakam is a good player but he's not ever going to be "the guy" on a championship level team.
