onejayhawk
This one is kind of fun, predicting stat leaders. Some are easy, others not so much, eg forced fumbles.https://chiefswire.usatoday.com/gallery/kansas-city-chiefs-statistical-leader-predictions-2021-nfl-season-tyreek-hill-chris-jones/ Preseason win prediction and SB chances--11.5 wins and 19.2% of bringing home another Lombardi. Both are league best in this analysis. It's worth noting that of the other four teams in the tip five, we face three in the first five games. Reid has a reputation for starting fast. This would be a good seson for that.https://chiefswire.usatoday.com/2021/09/06/nfl-kansas-city-chiefs-espn-fpi-playoffs-super-bowl-win-total-predictions/ More over/under. I like the first one, Mahomes TD throws - 39.5. https://www.arrowheadpride.com/2021/9/6/22659647/debating-4-chiefs-over-unders-for-the-2021-season A ranking of the opposing QBs. onejayhawk
A stat worth watching is going to be the rushing yards per carry. The new OL is substantially larger and more physical, while the scheme has shifted more to power emphasis. It should help the running game and YPC is a way to sheck.https://chiefswire.usatoday.com/2021/09/07/kansas-city-chiefs-one-stat-that-matters-creed-humphrey-6-9/
onejayhawk
HC Reid has a reputation for starting faster than he finishes. This season the schedule is stacked toward he front, so that trait might be useful. https://www.arrowheadpride.com/2021/9/8/22663126/the-chiefs-are-focused-on-starting-the-2021-season-as-fast-as-they-can Propp bet on Clyde. onejayhawk
There is not really a thread for this. The article explores the roster, who came when and how. https://www.yardbarker.com/nfl/articles/exploring_how_the_current_chiefs_roster_was_built/s1_16631_35839553 This is a small piece Orlando Brown - First year with Chiefs, drafted 3:83 by Ravens in 2018 Joe Thuney - First year with Chiefs, drafted 3:78 by Patriots in 2016 Creed Humphrey - First year with Chiefs, drafted 2:63 by Chiefs in 2021 Trey Smith - First year with Chiefs, drafted 6:226 by Chiefs in 2021 Lucas Niang - First year with Chiefs, drafted 3:96 by Chiefs in 2020 Mike Remmers - Second year with Chiefs, UDFA signing by Buccaneers in 2012 Nick Allegretti - Third year with Chiefs, drafted 7:216 by Chiefs in 2019 Austin Blythe - First year with Chiefs, drafted 7:248 by Colts in 2016 Laurent Durvernay-Tardif - Seventh year with Chiefs, drafted 6:200 by Chiefs in 2014 Andrew Wylie - Fourth year with Chiefs, UDFA signing by Colts in 2017 Did you know that Creed Humphrey is the highest drafted OL on the roster? None were drafted top 50. There are one 2nd, three 3rds, two 6ths, two 7ths, and two UDFAs on the active roster. onejayhawk
Past halfway at 5-4. Going into the season that would have been a downer. Now it feels like relief. The big three game stretch of Geen Bay, Las Vegas, and Dallas is looking more doable.

onejayhawk
I wasn't sure where to put this, since it bears on teh team but it's not current events. onejayhawk
This is a sad one. Curly Culp, former Chief and member of the Hall of Fame has cancer.https://chiefswire.usatoday.com/2021/11/16/kansas-city-chiefs-curley-culp-pancreatic-cancer-announcement/ The Chiefs acquired him in 1968 out of Arizona state. He played LDT and made the Pro-Bowl for the Chiefs' championship team in 1969. He was twice a Pro-Bowl DT during his six full seasons with Kansas City. Late in 1974, season seven, he was traded to Houston. In 1975, Houston HC Bum Phillips installed a 3-4 defense. While most of the press went to Pro-Bowl DE Elvin Bethea and young stud LB Robert Brazile, Culp had the best season with 11.5 sacks and making All-Pro. The three of them anchored the defense that rivaled the Steelers in their heyday. Culp would have three more Pro-Bowls, bringing the total to six. He was inducted into the HoF in 2013 and is sometimes credited with inventing the modern NT. https://www.pro-football-reference.com/players/C/CulpCu00.htm Good luck Curley. Our prayers are with you.
