Texas / OU talking to SEC?

Looks like the 3-6 model seems to be inevitable.  It'll be interesting to see which rivalries get protected.

If we want to keep Bedlam on the schedule, the SEC should drop to 7 conference games. It still would allow for three protected opponents per team, but just four rotating opponents on a six-year schedule. It would also open the door for more juicy OOC games, especially if all P5 leagues go to 7 conference games. A six-year rotation isn't that big a jump from a four-year rotation, but it is still better than a 12-year rotation for the current format or 14-year rotation if two divisions of 8 teams. What would also help to protect Bedlam is the state of Oklahoma requiring it by law (a la Clemson-South Carolina). It would be one of the few good laws enacted in Oklahoma in recent years.
