Don't put significant stock in the Winfree reports at this point.  This is his third year in the league so he's going to be more polished and ready, and even in pads most TC drills favor offense.  Not saying he may not be a player, just that we have no more idea today than we did yesterday, if you follow me.

Watch us cut Winfree for Cobb and Winfree turns into a player in Minnesota or something.

And in a couple of years Rodgers will declare he was the 2nd best WR in camp.

Anything on Stokes? Sounds like he's learning the hard way.

Guards 17 almost every chance he gets. Rodgers targeting him a lot, probably on purpose. Lazard beat him on a crosser during team but he nicely covered Adams on a go route from 12. Up and down for the rookie.

The Kamal Martin thing was a bit weird today. He worked almost exclusively with the EDGE group. Hoping it's just a "let's experiment" versus an actual possible move from ILB.

With Ramsey going down, the depth at OLB isn't good. Probably doesn't hurt to see if he can do something there. Martin has a little more length than most ILB's.

Yeah I suspect that actually may have played a role.  Team really has nothing for the drop OLB spot if Barry wants to use it besides Preston, and you're paying too much for him even at his current rate to want him playing that role a ton.  Martin has the frame for it (6'3", 240, 34 inch arms) and wasn't great in space when last seen anyway.  If his only real value comes from blitzing, I can see the value in trying him at the spot to see if he can figure it out.

Some info about the new guy: Daniel Crawford from Northern Illinois.

Crawford, who is listed at 6’2” – 251 pounds, went undrafted following the 2021 NFL draft. He has four years of playing experience at Northern Illinois, with a bulk of his snaps coming over his final two seasons.

During that span, Crawford was targeted 74 times and caught 78 percent of those passes while averaging 10.8 yards per catch and with three touchdowns, according to PFF ($$).

Given how important blocking from both the tight end and receiver positions are to the Matt LaFleur offense, it’s also worth noting that this may be an area that Crawford will really need to improve upon. His run-blocking grades from PFF during his final two years of college were well below average.

As a tight end, Crawford’s Relative Athletic Score (RAS) — which is based on his measurements and times from his Pro-Day — is below average at 4.62. But as a fullback, his RAS jumps to 6.81.

His athletic profile coupled with his ability to move around the formation — playing 32 percent of his snaps from the slot in college — could make him a good fit for the H-back role in this Matt LaFleur offense.
