Use this thread to discuss news from camp.  A lot of excitement for me this year to see how things pan out.

Okudah made the play of camp on Thursday, running stride-by-stride with Tyrell Williams on a bomb during 11-on-11s. Jared Goff’s throw was perfect, but Okudah’s positioning was just as perfect. He knocked the ball down and let everyone on the field know it.

I think Okudah making plays is going to be one of the hot debates of camp: did he drastically improve or is he playing against sub par competition?

Probably somewhere in the middle.

Really the only position group I can trust if they do well in camp is our D LIne.  They are the only unit playing against a plus opponent on the team.  If the offense and Goff look good, the questions are is it because we had the worst D in Lions history last year or is the offense good.  If the rest of the D does good the questions are if Goff and th WR are really bad.  I don't think we will know much about this team until the season starts. But free Kool-Aid until then.

That is a really good point. Teams aren't doing the joint training camps either, so we won't really get an inkling of the truth until pre-season.

Day four highlights.  Nothing overly exciting IMO other than Hockenson seems to be stepping up huge.  Might be a guy I target in fantasy based on lack of other options for Goff that have the ability to win one on one.

Interesting to read Nick Williams has been getting first team reps at DE with Brockers and McNeil.  Levi has worked up to second team and hoping he can overtake Williams before the season since I think we all know what Williams is.  They said Flowers ran some NT on pass rushing downs.  Interesting to see how the D line looks today when pads are on finally.

Side note, if Josh Gordon does in fact get reinstated, I think we should bring him in.  We seem to have a good fun culture that could help him as well as we have nothing at WR and he could showcase himself.  Plus it would be super cheap and we aren't in contention to win anything so why not take a chance.  Could even potentially trade him at the deadline.

Some koolaid about Alim McNeil.  I like that he is looking good against Frank Ragnow and is picking Frank's brain on ways to improve.

It would be nice to have a respectable force in the middle of our defense again.

Jets are reportedly interested in trading Denzel Mims. Would you throw them a Day 3 pick for Mims?

Maybe a conditional pick. If there's significant enough issues where they're willing to give up on a 2020 2nd round draft pick, that's concerning. I would want one of the conditions to be no compensation if he doesn't make the roster.

If the Jets are really interested in dealing him, the Lions should be listening.  6'3, 207 Lbs, had a 4.38 forty and 38 inch vertical at the combine.  He only has one season of experience but a ton of untapped potential.

Absolutely, a conditional pick would allow the Jets to get a bit of value back if he produces and keep the Lions' risk low if he turns into the next Titus Young.
