Colts’ Carson Wentz returned Monday from foot injury

Home games against the Seahawks and Rams to start the year.

Followed by road games against the Titans, Dolphins and Ravens.

If Wentz misses those games, they're done. They'll still have the Niners, Cardinals, Titans again, Bucs, Patriots and Bills too. Can't count on easy wins against the Jags either.

Wentz played 16 in year 1

He played 16 in year 4 while getting destroyed on a bad team that he led to the playoffs anyway.

  • There is your stats vs wins argument season for him.
  • Yes, Clowney knocked him out in the playoffs on a cheap shot. (clear helmet to helmet that also forced a helmet to ground collision)
  • Everyone who thinks a concussion is injury prone should pull a Gus Frerotte.

He played 13 like an MVP in 2017 and had 2 guys snap his ACL like a twig. Every human gets injured there.

He played 11 out of 14 in 2018 after he came back from that ACL injury. He got slammed in the back and got a stress fracture.

He played every snap in 2020 until his about to be fired on a dumpster fire team coach benched him (on merit)

Wentz was bad but the team was awful. (this draws praise for Andy Dalton for some reason when he does the same)

He tweaked his foot. Do we even know that its going to take longer than 6 weeks to heal?

Dak has 69 starts through 5 seasons.

Wentz has 68

I think the Eagles should have kept Foles and got a ransom for Wentz in 2018 and I also think he is butter soft mentally but he's human, not injury prone.

Why are you bringing up Dak? And why without any context?

Dak has suffered 2 game-affecting injuries. In 2018 he had 2 broken thumbs and a sprained shoulder against the Eagles. And in 2020 he broke his ankle.

Wentz has been injured or recovering from injuries his entire career.

Every game? wasn’t he relatively healthy the last two seasons? The concussion he had was a dirty play what could he have done on that play.

In his rookie year he suffered some minor injuries (broken ribs, maybe?) in preseason that lingered.

His sophomore year he tore his ACL.

His 3rd year he started off "recovering" from his ACL and ended with a back injury.

2019 Eagles fans pretty consistently gave him the "coming back"; "not 100%" most of the season due to his back and then he suffered a concussion.

2020 he broke his ego and it turned him into the worst QB in the NFL.

2021 he no longer acknowledges he has a foot.

Pretty clear pattern of injury.

Honestly, Wentz was never THAT good, even in 2017; he was on a stacked team that clicked and managed to hide his deficincies.

you didn't watch him that year did you?

Cus that's just revisionist history.

I will be unapologetically spiteful and petty.

As soon as things got a little difficult he cried his way out of town. That deserves or gets no respect

Obviously it's not good that Wentz is injured, but we don't yet know the severity of the injury and how much game time he'll miss.

It's incredibly frustrating as on paper as he'll likely be out for training camp, we look to have a really good team, and if anyone can get Wentz playing to his best, you'd certainly put Frank Reich up there.

Not gonna call time on the season yet. Just have to hope its not that severe, he can get back fairly quickly and then we can determine if draft picks were wasted and who made the right or wrong move.

Surgery required to a foot injury.....that could be tough. New starter...team...playbook.
Are there similarities to the Indy playbook to the offense Reich ran in Philly? That would help.

I believe he brought a lot of the offence that he used in Philly to Indy, but not all. He introduced new stuff too.

Marcus Brady is the new OC replacing Sirianni but he was the QB coach so can't imagine much will change there.

Hopefully he won't need surgery, and he'll be able to go the facility and continue to learn as he recovers.

I wouldn't trade for a Foles or a Minshew. Eason's been there for a season and knows the playbook. If there's any time to see what he can do, now seems the best time to do so.

Cant say I know squat about Eason....but if a trades upcoming, of the two you mention - I'd take Minshew.
He might not be all that "talent-wise" but he'll give you his best. Thing is Indy's got a good squad - so you dont want a caretaker backup stepping in.
Good luck. You play the Packers this year? If so....no good luck for that game.
