Agreed, still bummed the Saints didn't trade up for him. Always thought it was funny that some people didn't think he had enough arm strength during the draft process

I get what you're saying, but I actually think that play proves the point. His arm strength is fine but it's not something to brag about. Won't crater his career or anything either though, of course, but it's just not anything special. I thought he had to throw that thing with his whole damn body and with momentum. That's not going to be common for him to be able to do that.  Lawrence, Lance, fields can put that kind of velo on a ball flat footed.

His arm looked slightly worse because of the other QBs in the draft compared, similar to how everyone treated Lance's accuracy like it was Josh Allen like but it was almost unfair to compare anyone to the freakish accuracy of Mac and fields.  And it's okay that Mac doesn't have that strength the others do, and okay that Lance doesn't have that natural accuracy.  Each guy isn't perfect, of course

Is it more the talent of the Pats or the talent of the eagles? Lol

Our depth sucks, especially when you get to the 3rd, 4th, and 5th string and Pats weren’t even going up against most of our 1st string. Our starters got the better of them both days in practice and very convincingly that first day. Belichick had to move the offense from 11 on 11s to 7 on 7s just to get in some good work cause our defensive line was making life hard on their QBs to do much of anything. Like in this game we had an international pathway program player who has been nonexistent in camp and has been with the team for like 3 years and never been close to making the 53 trying to rush against Trent Brown. Not exactly a recipe for success. I would also hope their back-ups did better considering ours were in much more of the game and they didn’t get any rest with the offense being incompetent, especially under Mullens.

Has the #1 pick ever had to compete for the starting QB position?  There’s been a few times they knew going in they were the backup; Palmer, Smith, Goff…

JaMarcus Russell, lol. But yeah especially in the modern NFL it's pretty rare for any QB taken early to start the season as QB2.

Of course, the three Northeast cities in the NFC East happen to be the country's birthplace (Philadelphia), capital (Washington), and largest city (New York City).

Every big four sports league has these three cities together in one division - except the NBA.
