Hurd doesn't look any special so far.

I'll give him a little pass since the man never plays and must be somewhat rusty but no excuse on that drop...First one his vision was impaired by the DB..This one though? Dropped it turning after the catch.

I have very little faith in Banks moving forward, tbh. It's not completely unheard of for an older prospect to struggle and then get better years later (Garrett Bolles), but it's certainly not a common happening either. Banks' start is pretty much as much of a disaster as it could have been given his very specific circumstances.

Wow, maybe I am just getting more optimistic with age, but that seems like quite a hyperbole. Was anybody really reporting that he was playing THAT badly before getting injured? Maybe I missed it.

Either way, I've learned over time not to complain or worry about draft busts too often. Some of the best franchises over the last decade have been subpar drafters. Coaching and development are more important than just drafting talent, so hopefully Shanahan and Lynch learn from their draft mistakes and correct their actions in the future. If we did waste a second on Banks, then so be it. Hopefully it doesn't happen again in the future, but it isn't going to close our championship window. 🙃

Nope I agree.

Like Jennings was good week one but today has been kinda meh. Benjamin is a specialist and can earn a role because of that. Sanu has looked slow and while i think he makes the roster i don't think he is anywhere near what he was at his best.

In general if you hit close to 50% you are doing good. In general i prefer to look at a whole class instead of single picks. Like we have a ton of bad picks with this regime and on the other hand have some of the biggest steals. If you rearrange out draft classes like substituting Thomas for Kittle almost any single one looks better.

Reports were that he was pretty bad.Especially in pass blocking. Just too slow so far. People were getting in under and around him pretty much at will.   And the preseason game he was pretty much blasted for.  His PFF grade was a 0 LOL (nobody cares about the specific grades, but the truth is that it can at least point you in the direction of how well or badly a person played).

Happens every year to every team. That's why I don't mind calling it out early as I see it. He was a late second round pick. They aren't known for hitting a super high percentage of time regardless, so it's not a big deal. And if guys like Hufanga and Lenoir hit, what's it matter?

Side note -

Feel this way about just about all of our receivers. We have a lot of guys who are heavy footed.
