Preseason Week 3: New England Patriots @ New York Giants

1st Quarter: Giants start with the ball and the o-line gets dominated with Thomas giving up a sack. 3 and out. Patriots are successful on the ground, not so much through the air as they drive to a field goal. Rodarius is already showing up for us.

Our next drive looks better, with some actual creativity in the playcalling; Engram and Hernandez shine. Another sack and then Slayton drops an easy 3rd down pass. Great punt by Dixon. Pats are pinned DEEP, false starting and then Blake Martinez picks off a deep throw by Newton! What a play. We've got it on the Pats' 41 to end the quarter.

Heard Andrew Thomas has been bad despite having a strong camp?

Tbh ain’t been paying attention to any nfl in camp Or preseason. Is our o-line gonna be crap again for like 6th year in a row?

It’s the worse he’s even been. Not sure what he’s doing today.

2nd Quarter: Shepard comes to our rescue with a huge 3rd down conversion and we're in scoring range. Defensive holding helps us out. Play action to Engram who dives to the one! On the doorstep but DJ is picked off on 3rd and goal. Bad decision.

Mac Jones is in and does some good work until he is sacked by Lawrence. 48 yard field goal attempt is good, 6-0 Patriots. Gary Brightwell getting snaps ahead of Clement and fighting for every inch. Thomas draws a holding flag and he's really struggling tonight. 3rd down throw to Pettis is easily covered and almost picked by Justin Bethel.

Engram looks shaken and goes to the back. Patriots stall out and Jones doesn't force anything this time, leading us on a competent drive. Great touchdown throw, a drop in the bucket to Kaden Smith. Pats try to answer but Williams flushes out Mac Jones--right into the waiting arms of Lorenzo Carter. That'll end the half. 7-6, G-Men.

3rd Quarter: Mac Jones gets comfortable in the Pats' next drive leading to a touchdown for Isaiah Zuber. 2 point attempt fails so it's 12-7. Mike Glennon now in at QB and not doing much. Jones gets the ball back almost immediately and again has no trouble against our backups. Another touchdown, now by Rhamondre Stevenson. XP is good, 19-7 Pats.

Sills is out there now, running great routes including a would-be touchdown that Glennon overthrows. Alex Bachmann makes up for an earlier drop with a good catch over the middle. Gano's FG attempt is no good. Mac Jones plays another series and is sacked twice. Somebody should tell Belichick the guy was a 1st-round pick and doesn't need to be out there anymore.

4th Quarter: We've got it back and Elijhaa Penny runs through a hole the size of the Grand Canyon. Backups are cobbling together a solid drive here. Touchdown for Alex Bachmann! XP is good. 19-14. Brian Hoyer in for NE and it's about time. Pats continue to produce in the middle of the field and another FG makes it 22-14.

Glennon's passable, receivers are doing all right, but the o-line stinks. Ted Larsen is hurt now and that won't help our depth. Pats kneel down to drain the clock. Almost no time but we'll drive. Glennon guns it to Damion Willis for the touchdown! 2 point attempt falls incomplete though and we lose 20-22.

Mixed results from the starting offense today, and they'll need to shape up very quickly with Denver and Washington waiting in Weeks 1 & 2.

Thanks for the recap, was not able to watch the Giants and will not till Wednesday when I return to town.  Sounds like Matt Peart and who ever played Left Guard was not bad, if so those are positive. Hopefully Judge can fix Andrew Thomas again.

This oline plain sucks. Thomas and Peart are going to get Jones killed. Gettleman better be self aware his job IS on the line this season. Multiple sacks that were given up by the forementioned guys who are still doing the same mistakes they did last season. Not acceptable. Who was it that gave me crap about taking a WR in rd1 and making a dumb trade down when Parsons and Slater were there for the taking? Oh and how is Aaron Robinson working out? Better yet how about headcase Toney? I'm sick of ppl saying the preseason doesn't matter. Record wise it doesn't, but team cohesion wise it matters beyond belief. U wanna see flashes from the rookies, solid play from your 2nd year guys and veterans and im not seeing anything from the starting oline that would warrant me to believe that we are heading for a "glorious" season. DJ's pick in the end zone.. pitiful. 3rd year bro.. and your still making a horrible decision like that? not good.
