Charles
I don't see how this is even a thing. I thought teams could cut players for any reason. Is this just another ESPN made up thing to bash Urban with?

Was there like a memo or something? That just seems completely unrealistic if that's the official policy.

Ok..doesn't say it can't be a factor, just not the only factor. I don't see any cuts that would arouse suspicion.

Adrenaline_Flux
I don't think there will be any penalty since they said it couldn't be the sole reason and it wasn't the sole reason for anyone getting cut. Especially considering we are rostering unvaccinated players still. but because we're the Jags and it's Urban I'm sure we'll lose a draft pick or some nonsense

Nor do i understand how you'd ever expect it to be a non-factor with these roster bubble guys. The fact of the matter is, un-vaxed introduces a whole litany of hassles and inconveniences to your day-to-day routine as a team, significantly impacts potential reliability and availability of a player, and exposes your organization to a higher risk of the sort of outbreak that'll cost you games via forfeiture. When it comes to choosing between two fringe/bubble guys of similar ability, it's a no-brainer to go with the vaccinated one. It's a more significant factor than anything you're likely to see in the 4th quarter of a preseason game. It'd be asinine if Urban/The Jaguars ended up punished/fined/whatever for having accidentally mentioned that it was "A Factor" in the equation. It's what any rational coach or manager is thinking. I can't see any way to demonstrably "prove" it was about that, rather than other player concerns that are hugely fluid and bizarre irrational cuts happen all the time.

pwny
So all unvaxxed players will apparently miss the London game. Yeah, they all deserve to be cut.

Jesus… I wonder if all the unvaxxed guys actually know this and still will pass. Josh Allen obviously immediately comes to mind as he’s definitely the most high profile guy who we know for sure isn’t.
