TIL Jacob Hollister is a "weapon" despite being on his 4th team in like 12 months

good enough to succeed on the mismatches being lined up at TE, not good enough to be consistent at WR, not a great blocker. Those three things makes it hard to peg him.

Urban has 2 types and f tightened.

Type 1) the Blocker type

Type 2) the recieving type.

He has connections with our staff so they should know how to use him.

Hollister was a surprise to bills fans but it seemed like the bills staff wasnt interested as they didnt even offer him a psqaud spot and took someone else instead. GM then later went on and told the media that they assume he will find a new home. Bills are thin at TE with one who tends to get injured based on his past and having only 2 on the roster which is why fans thought he would be a lock. Hollister showed some promise when he was facing the 2-4th string players but never got a ton of 1st string reps in practice. He may be good on the jags but he lacked the consistency in blocking and his catching is better but still subpar. Dont expect him to make game changing plays but a couple of targets his way he may take advantage.

Hollister wasn’t accepting a Practice Squad invite lol. The tweet referenced in the initial post said he had several offers including the Jaguars.

Bills didnt even offer him a p sqaud invite even if there were options on the table or not. The point is the bills front office and coaching staff werent high on him as fans thought they were, considering that they are going in to the season with 2 guys, which one is always injured rather then keeping hollister.

Why would the Bills offer a practice squad spot to a player who had absolutely zero chance of signing with them? Regardless of what they do or don’t think of him, it’s a waste of the team’s and his time to do so, because it was an inevitability he was getting a main roster spot offer from multiple teams. The Bills had better things to do than to make an offer to a player they had absolutely zero chance of bringing back.

You can’t infer anything about what the Bills did other than their belief that he didn’t show them enough to make the team’s 53 man roster, based on their evaluation of what the team’s needs.
