Any idea on Comp?

Rumblings are a 3rd, possibly 4th rounder.

Veterans just don't fetch much in the NFL in trades. Saving 10 mil in cap space, and moving on from a 30 year old who's not apart of the future of the franchise is more important. The move it to tank, and get the younger guys more experience. Obtain as much cap space and draft capital to build the team back up. It's going to be a 2-3 year rebuild.

I'm not arguing against what we got for Roby because it's something, but this just highlights how bad O'Brien was as a GM. The fact that we got less for Bradley Roby than we gave up to get Duke Johnson is mind blowing, especially when you consider the value of a starting CB compared to a 3rd down RB.

Ingram will have a better season than Bell

edit: to clarify, I think Ingram has more in the tank than Bell and would also be a better fit for Baltimore. they probably didnt want to lose any trade capital though for an RB2-3

Trading Roby makes sense, but it is unfortunate that this was the one contract that OB gave that was good value and ultimately it was just wasted. He is a good player on very reasonable contract at a premium position and if only every other trade / signing wasn’t bungled, having Roby on this deal would have made been great.

That's my take, too. Bradley was far from perfect, but he was the best CB on the team ...by a lot.

There's no guarantee that whoever we bring in next (via FA or draft) is going to be better/as good as Roby.

There are versions of this rebuild where Roby helps with the transition. I guess we'll put our eggs in the basket of someone next season as CB1.
