y*so*blu
Best drive so far this year. More of that, please!
Acgott
Much better pressure on 3rd down. The blitzer got stuck for a second, but still generated it
Acgott
Well this sucks. Poor Gates
y*so*blu
Nick's worked so hard for us. I wish him the best. Sounds like a lower leg injury, which they deliberately chose not to replay.
Go_Giants
Sigh... they did it again, they are in field goal range, then after two plays they get themselves out of it.
y*so*blu
1st Quarter: Quick 3 & out for Washington and out comes DJ with our rearranged o-line and our best drive of the season. Weak RTP call on Young keeps it going and Jones runs it in himself, 7-0 Big Blue. Nick Gates down with a serious lower leg injury; Ben Bredeson subs in. MONSTER RUN by Saquon takes us well into WFT territory but penalties and a sack take us back out. Washington starts their first good drive as the quarter ends. Go_Giants
The momentum of the game is starting to go against us, the defense has step up and also give Bradberry some help. He sucked last week seems like he is sucking again tonight.
w4rrior723
Jones is so weird. He has all of the traits that you would want from a QB on paper; size, athleticism, adequate arm strength, good accuracy, intelligent, great leadership and work ethic. But he's just not a good QB because of some key bad tendencies like holding onto the ball too long in the pocket, staring down receivers, and not protecting the football. It's unfortunate.
Go_Giants
Whew, seems like WFT likes shooting themselves in the foot just like the Giants.
Go_Giants
The defense is playing like garbage again and terrible defensive play calling, a soft zone allowing the WFT to dink and dump up the field.
y*so*blu
2nd Quarter: WFT now in 4-down territory and they get it on a QB sneak. McLaurin finishes off the 90 yard drive with a touchdown; tie game. No pass rush, poor coverage; shades of Week 1. Jones singlehandedly kills our next drive. Penalties do the same to Washington's so we go back to work. Holding downfield cancels out a Jones touchdown run, but still a huge gain. Ends with a field goal. More soft zone by Graham allows Washington to get down the field far too easily. Touchdown by McKissic and Washington goes up 14-10. Giants take a knee to end the half. w4rrior723
On that drive, Jones displayed a lot of the great tools I mentioned above. The Oline did a good job of creating a pocket for him and giving him time. DJ was able to make good reads and get the ball out in time. That's what he needs to continue to show if he wants to keep his job for the foreseeable future.
y*so*blu
Garrett did everything in his power to screw up that drive; Daniel Jones of all people saved it. 😄
y*so*blu
3rd Quarter: We get a good drive going until Thomas blows a block and our running game grinds to a halt. Limits us to a long field goal attempt by Gano, which is good. 14-13 WFT. Finally the defense gets off the field on their next series, and we cobble together another drive--silly mistakes here, saving grace plays there--that ends with a GREAT touchdown bomb to Slayton. XP is good, 20-14 Giants. Pass rush finally shows up and gives Heinicke nowhere to throw. Long field goal is good so it's 20-17. Some hickups by Billy Price at center but he's mostly doing all right. Good NY drive developing now. Please win this damn game. End of the 3rd. Edited September 17, 2021 by y*so*blu
w4rrior723
How does the defense let Washington go down the whole field for a touchdown in 2 plays with 5 minutes left and a 6 point lead? The defense has been bad tonight. Can't stop Heinicke.
