Week 2: Lions on MNF

Division game for lead of the division... seems interesting. Also Lions focused on stocking their lines.

Packers need to get the offense run game going to take pressure off the passing game and defense. And short passes and wheel routes to the RB also count as runs... I think we tried to be too fancy too early and didn't get the basics down first.

Rodgers and the offense are not the story this week.  It's if we can stop Jamal Williams and the Lions run game.  We can't score if we don't have the ball.  The Saints game was demoralizing because we had to sit and watch long, time consuming drives.  Confidence was eroding as the Saints took their time matriculating the ball down the field.

We lose if Williams gets 100 yards.  Lions aren't good, but they are better than people give them credit for.

The issue will be Swift, not Williams. He's got the skillset that will absolutely burn our defense if they don't remember how to tackle.

Yes, the R-E-L-A-X year.

Our offense WILL come around.  They are NOT 99% of the story.  The Packers story this year is Barry and the defense.  If the other team scores everytime they have the ball... we are in deep shmit.  Folks are already dreading the SanFran game, why?  Because our defense looks like it did two years ago.  Listless and soft.

depends on definition of "story". They are 99% of the national media story. But, to us here, we understand the importance of the defense more.

That's going to be a tough sell IMO.

They are 99% of the story this week. Has Aaron had any seasons where he started slow and then turned it on later? (genuinely asking)

Irony alert!

Rodgers last threw two picks in the opening game of the year in 2010.  We went on to win the Super bowl in 2010.

Oh, by the way, the Saints beat the Bus last year by a score of........... 38-3.

few answers already but I think the 'run the table' year could qualify here as well.

then going way back the super bowl year too.  our offense was terrible until like week 12 when some Jordy Nelson dude started hitting his stride.  Going more than a decade back might be a bit of a stretch though.

I hope we can put out a better Oline this week. I'm puzzled why Runyan has been dropped after seemingly playing well last year. Having on the first INT both Newman and Patrick got worked easy and AR had so much pressure he tossed the INT. I would like to shore up the Oline this week in some way. Maybe Runyan gets the nod or Kelley. Need better Oline play and it's on the coaching staff as they made the decision to go with 2 rooks inside and Patrick who most thought was JAG most of last year. Puzzled and hope they can perform better, if the Oline plays better last week we score instead of turn it over.

If our QB isn't a little ***** scared to get hit, we don't turn it over either. Between that drive and the play action sack, Rodgers killed two drives because he's soft.

Can't ******* happen. Get hit, it's part of playing football, you'll get a flag half the time anyway.

There’s no sense trying to be reasonable with some people on here. They’re just looking for reasons to complain and moan, especially if Rodgers plays bad. A lot of ‘Packer fans’ want him to fail🤷🏻‍♂️

By the end of the year, the Bucs had a defense performing at a Super Bowl caliber level (obviously). Hell may freeze over before that happens here.

Correction ... hell WILL freeze over before the defense performs at that level.  Just don't see the defense responding with what they now have as a scheme/players.
