Week 2: Lions on MNF

If Rodgers doesn't show up this week it a very bad sign. A lot of last week falls on his shoulders for his asinine behavior all off season as well as coming into camp and airing all of his grievances. He's a selfish prick and the sooner he's out of town the better the organization will be for it.

If we don't whip the Lions, we're in trouble, big time.

Rodgers and the offense are not the story this week.  It's if we can stop Jamal Williams and the Lions run game.  We can't score if we don't have the ball.  The Saints game was demoralizing because we had to sit and watch long, time consuming drives.  Confidence was eroding as the Saints took their time matriculating the ball down the field.

We lose if Williams gets 100 yards.  Lions aren't good, but they are better than people give them credit for.

I don't think we're going to ultimately lose, but I'm starting Jamaal Williams over Clyde Edwards-Helaire this week, if that tells you anything.

Why ? There’s a hell of a chance Williams Is phased out in the 2nd half.  KC is going to score a ton of points which is great for Edwards-Helaire

Our average TOP was 2:49 seconds on offense with 6 plays. The offense was ******* dreadful at controlling the ball.

Yup. If you've got a defense that doesnt seem quite up to shutting things down.......the offense making cameo appearances like that will be the last nail the coffin needs.

Run. The. Ball.

That's going to be a tough sell IMO.

They are 99% of the story this week. Has Aaron had any seasons where he started slow and then turned it on later? (genuinely asking)

Yes, the R-E-L-A-X year.

Our offense WILL come around.  They are NOT 99% of the story.  The Packers story this year is Barry and the defense.  If the other team scores everytime they have the ball... we are in deep shmit.  Folks are already dreading the SanFran game, why?  Because our defense looks like it did two years ago.  Listless and soft.

Yes - the defense looked listless and soft against the Saints - but - I'm considering that the 4th preseason game and the first the Starters actually played in. Thats not a excuse - but the *entire team* looked listless and out of sorts.

Could the heat have contributed? I think so, yes.

Current temps in Green Bay are around 70-75 degrees.
Current temps in San Fran are around 70-75 degrees.

I think everybody thinks San Fran a decidedly better team than New Orleans and we'll need to bring it - but at least the heat wont be a factor playing against us.

We basically started the season in the same way in 2014 against Seattle. Only difference is that the Seahawks were coming off a SB title so we were expecting to get beat. I think we were all a little over-confident against the Saints given all their changes this off-season.

This would be a sound strategy if the Chiefs were happy to play "pound the rock" even when up. Also, Williams still sees touches/targets even when down. Six of his nine targets came in the second half. AND he got his goal line attempt in the fourth.
