The season rolls on with another big game, this one on the road. The good news is that Tyrann Mathieu is expected to play.

HC Reid had a few things to say. Clark is still not there, though it's close. Improving the running game is a priority.

There was a lot of praise for the OL, too much IMO. Humphrey gets some props, but mostly settles an old stereotype.

In week #1 Mahomes set records for yards and TDs in the first 50 games, except this was only game #47. This week kelce should break Gronk's pace to 8000 yards by seven games. You'd think these guys were good or something.

It looks like both Clark and Mathieu will play in Baltimore.

You have to wonder if the Ravens were looking past the Raiders. Regardless, this has to be a game they have been prepping for since the offseason. On the flip side, this is a homecoming for Orlando Brown. The OL played pretty well against a Cleveland defense that was itself working in new players.

This is interesting, because OBJr's old OL is not doing as well.

I wonder if we’re gonna keep Tyrann after this season. That’s one of the toughest decisions in recent memory I’d probably let him walk if he’s chasing top guy money I just don’t know how we can afford it and he is a smaller guy so injury is still a concern as he gets older.

I say "move on". Money can be spent elsewhere. It'll be time to move on.

Yeah how many times do these safeties get top guy money and it’s not a colossal mistake. Ed Reed? Maybe a few others?

Veach said he’s gonna try to keep him but it’s gonna be hard I think he was trying to give the fans a little heads up while keeping Tyrann invested for this season.

one of tyranns first quotes when he got here was about how he’s gonna earn an even bigger payday so I doubt a pay cut is really on his radar. But maybe no other team will throw him much more than we will since he’s a 5’9 safety with an injury history turning 30

The money has to be reasonable otherwise there's just no way.

Even giving Mathieu the same deal for another year is a stretch. Only Fenton, Sneed and Thornhill are under contract for 2023. Every other DB contract is expiring--Mathieu, Sorensen, Ward, Hughes, Baker, even Watts and Lammons.

This is the fourth meeting between Mahomes and Lamar Jackson. the first three went well for us.

Harrison Smith just got extended and he’s older than Tyrann. If they can’t get a long term deal they’ll likely tag him

You tag him and then we don't have that option for Brown. Who would you rather be 100% certain to retain: a 30yo safety or 25yo LT that you just spent a 1st round pick+ on? As much as I want to keep Mathieu, I don't see it happening with our cap situation. I still plan on digging into all that in a new post, but it'll probably be another month. Good news is that it's looking like a deep safety draft.

But what if it’s: pay Matheiu or lose Mathieu, draft another S and pay Thornhill
