Whicker
Offensive Strategy Formations: Seoul will be operating exclusively out of 11 man personnel this game. Scheme: Pass (65%)vs Run (35% )Tempo: Quick, plenty of hurry up and no huddle. Passing – Seoul will bring a variety of stacked WR formations this game, as we expect a ton of man coverage from Rome this weekend. We’ll align with the X riding solo on one side for the majority of the game. We want to use Bunch formations with Kelce, Y, and Z to create some rub routes along the other side. Humphrey and Jackson are studs, but we think we can get some solid match ups outside of those two. If we see Parker matched up outside solo with Dean, we will target that often. On the other side, who Humphrey is locked onto will determine how Kelce lines up. If Rome comes out early with Humphrey on Kelce, we will stack him outside with the WR’s. If he lines up on a WR, we will bring the stack in tighter. Route concepts out of the bunch will consists of skinny posts, drags, and outs. Rome brings a solid DL, but we think we can give enough protection to find plenty of open receivers in the 10-20 yard range. With our up tempo style this week we’re bringing 6 WR’s to the game and all will see reps. We won’t look to target the RB much this week in the passing game, they will help inside with Pass Pro. Rushing While we’re not rushing as often this game, we think we can still find some holes for Gibson. Gibson excels off tackle and with inside zone. When we do run we think we can find some nice holes on the opposite side of the bunch formation. When in the Redzone, Hurts will be our QB. We will look to use his legs, running a variety of RPO’s and QB reads. Defensive Strategy Formation: 3-3-5(40%), 2-4-5(30%) , 3-2-6(30%) 2-4-5 3T: John Franklin-Myers 1T: Jarran Reed Edge: Leonard Floyd Edge: Matt Judon LB: Isaiah Simmons LB: Joe Schobert CB: Cameron Sutton CB: Chidobe Awuzie NB: Kristian Fulton FS: Marcus Williams SS: Kyle Dugger 3-2-6 3T: John Franklin-Myers 1T: Jarran Reed Edge: Joe Tryon Edge: Matt Judon LB: Isaiah Simmons LB: Kyle Dugger CB: Cameron Sutton CB: Chidobe Awuzie NB: Kristian Fulton DB: Paulson Adebo FS: Marcus Williams Run Defense Rome brings an impressive OL group to this matchup. We look to keep the big guys fresh with a variety of different formations and subs. While Rome has an impressive OL, we are less concerned about their running game and will be looking more towards pass defense. Pass Rush We look to create a variety of matchups in this game with the different formations. We think we can create some problems up the middle with John Franklin-Myers and Jarran Reed in sub-packages. Joe Schobert and Isaiah Simmons, one will be coming up the middle and one will be in coverage all night. Simmons will likely come in zone coverage, while Schobert will be coming in man. Pass Defense Formation – Cover 1 Man(60%), Cover3/Cover2(40%) Seoul will be coming out with more man coverage in this game. We are looking to send some extra pressure, and we think our underrated CB room is up to the task. We’re sticking with mostly man coverage in our 2-4-5 & 3-2-6 packages. In our base 3-3-5 we’ll run more cover 3 and cover 2. If Rome decides to spread us out, we will run more of the 3-3-6 alignment. Moving Dugger and Simmons into LB roles. We will run mostly Cover 1 man out of this formation, with Williams covering the Deep middle. Matchups for man coverage; Cameron Sutton - Amari Cooper Chidobe Awuzie - Juju Smith-Schuster Kristian Fulton - Jaylen Waddle/Renfroe Kyle Dugger - Logan Thomas Isaiah Simmons - D’Andre Swift / Najee Harris 3-3-6 Matchups; Sutton – Cooper Awuzie – Smith-Schuster Fulton – Renfroe Adebo – Waddle Simmons - Thomas Dugger - RB Offense This week we open the up the playbook a little bit more and lean more on Herbert than last week. We plan on running majority three and four wr sets to lighten the box for the run game as well as getting our best pure play makers on the field. Passing game We are going to use a lot of motion this game to distinguish zone vs man coverage. If Seoul reverts back to a zone heavy off coverage scheme, we have worked on WR screens and TE screens in practice to hit that opening with men in front for nice plays on early downs Up front Seoul has a respectable front four but they aren't much of a match against our offensive line without having two blitz to apply pressure. Harris and Swift will be splitting the work. They will be on quick blitz alert first before running their route., generally as the check down option. Outside of the previous mentioned screens we have floods seams and some four vertical zone buster plays ready to be go. If they decide to go man we are gonna target Cooper early and often on short to intermediate routes while taking a few deep shots to Waddle. Juju main job is to run at the safety to take his help away in man coverage. In short yardage, we'll bring Renfrow in for juju as he is Mr first down route runner. Thomas will be utilized more against zone than in man if Simmons is his opponent. If not we'll also target him on some outs and posts in regular field position and especially corner routes near the end zone to utilize his height. The running backs will get sent on some wheel routes when reading man presnap and lined up on the Barnes!/Mosley side of the field. We think we can hit one or two routes like this, especially to swift Run game. With the defense spread out, we are going to depend on our guards to open some nice holes inside. On zone plays we will use a good amount of draws to take advantage of retreating lb. We'll also incorporate some tosses against zones with two wr and TE on the same side. Against man we'll run more traditional zbs rushing attack using the athleticism of our line to get ahead and into the second level. We have jumbo sets with Harris serving as defacto fb with Lindsey at RB and three TE for short yardage and goal line situations. We'll also throw a read option or two against man coverage. If Herbert sees the edge crashing he can take off with the defense having their back turned Tl/dr: Spread out defense. Motion to determine coverage and make play decisions based on that. Balanced play calling leaning on Herbert to make correct decisions. Trust the o line Defense With Trent Brown out and Ronnie Stanley highly questionable, we are forced to plan for two diff qb. If Ryan is the call, we like our chances against Andrew Thomas and friends. If Hurts is the call for his mobility we'll play more edge responsibility and keep him in the pocket and bring some heat Against the pass the obvious Seoul weapon is Travis Kelce. We are going to bill belichek him. Otherwise known as taking him out of the equation. We are generally going to have 8 in the box. The lb on kelce side plus the safety in the box both have Kelce duty other lb will get Gibson in three wide looks. On the outside Humphrey gets Cooks. W. Jackson gets number two wr and Dean number three. In four wide Jenkins comes in for lve and gets that guy. If it is two TE the non kelce lb gets that assignment. Milano gets Gibson out of backfield (also in four wide) We will be playing predominantly man with the above if it is Matt Ryan. However you can't show a veteran like Ryan the same looks so we will mix in some zone blitz and base cover three on occasion with our safety already in the box. If Hurts is the qb we are still going to play a majority zone (mix of cover two-three-six) with a LB singling kelce anyhow. We don't want to turn our backs to hurts running. Up front we like Justin Houston against Andrew Thomas. We are lining up Tomlinson in over the LG so if they try to slide protection left he's going to get pressure up the gut with the center trying to get to the him after snapping the ball. Seoul likes to establish the run. With our extra safety in the box single high look, it gives us that extra man near the line of scrimmage. We insert malcolm brown on run downs to help clog up the middle and let our lb make plays. McDowell rotates in for him on passing downs. Blacklock gives Tomlinson a break when he needs one. We also will rotate Fowler in on passing downs when Dunlap or Houston need a break. For hurts, our ends have edge responsibility on option looks trying to force everything inside. Tl/dr. Eliminate kelce from the gameplan. Safety in the box, key the run

Blue
Between Seoul's offensive tackle struggles and poor cornerbacks that Rome immediately took advantage of in the gameplan, I think this one gets ugly early and doesn't let up. Scoundrel
I like that Seoul attacked with more of a passing game this week than last. Rome expected heavier run than they are getting. But even with this taken into account Rome is the better team and executes their plan more effectively here.
VigilantZombie
Rome is the better team in this one. I like Seoul and I see them as an up and upcoming team in the league. I like both gameplans but I think Rome has an easier road to success in this one.
Jlash
Voted Seoul, accidentally. Change that to Rome for me. I like Samsel getting creative with the multiple looks on defense, but I don't think they match up talent wise and the pass rush looks lackluster in some of those formations. RedGold
Man.. I ran a 3-3-6 lineup when Rome spread me out and I still got blown up.

Probably because you're getting 12 men on the field penalties every snap.
