Man I hope people on this board will be humble enough to admit how wrong they're about to be on Oweh.

Yeah dude has to be one of the front runners for the DROY conversation. This has been two dominant performances back to back. I liked him and thought he’d be sort of a Clowney type: dominant against the run but very funky in pass rush (at least early in his career), but he’s been a force to this point.

The Ravens won, but it's absurd what a team has to do to defeat the Chiefs. Essentially get into a shootout, and hope you get a lucky break. The Buccaneers in the Super Bowl are the only team to really impose their will on the Chiefs in the Mahomes era.

The refs imposed their will in the Superbowl and kept pushing the Chiefs back.

Chiefs fans are so obnoxious. It’s like their team can’t just lose a game fair and square. But when they pull the crazy comebacks, it’s just the guys cranking up the engine and giving a little extra effort.

Yeah if anything the officiating was pretty in favor of KC last night too.

Wtf was that 2 pt conversion penalty. That’s such a huge moment in the game and such a big impact on the scoreboard.

Add in some holdings (more against Ravens) and illegal contacts (more against Chiefs) that seemed soft. You could see this either way, IMO.

Meh,  it’s the same with every fan base.   The obnoxious ones will come out with excuses,  the quiet ones realize they got their .. handed to them.

Like I said last week, while players are clearly super important, Baltimore's scheme itself is so good, that losing those RB's isn't going to hurt them nearly as much as many thought. They're going to dominate a lot of games up front/in time of possession due to having to account for the quarterback in the running game, and most defensive philosophies don't/can't account for that, which is about the only reason the wildcat was that effective for a brief period of time, because it's a full fit short on the front side.

So, take that fact and put it on steroids, and that's what defending Lamar Jackson boils down to. It doesn't matter that he threw 2 awful INT, or that he hasn't passed for 250+ yards in however many straight games, it's that you're only going to get so many possessions against them, their defense is still good even despite their deficiencies, and it's going to end up being a track meet of sorts.

They're going to win 8+ games each year because they're that physical, and Lamar Jackson is worth several wins himself if he's fully healthy.

Rewatching the highlights, Odafe Oweh had both of the most important plays of the night.

#1 - The score was 34-25 and Oweh is the guy who hits Mahomes and forces the INT, which the Ravens then score off of and changes the entire momentum of the game.

#2 - With KC driving well into FG range with just over 1:00 remaining, Oweh forces a fumble on CEH and recovers it himself.

Straight up amazing, especially from a rookie, AND ESPECIALLY from a rookie who everyone (including myself!) thought was a huge reach in the draft. Oweh has been a monster so far for this defense and he would be my Player of The Game last night.
