Aren't most of these guys better athletes than football players, notable exception being D!ckRod? Just skimming over the 4th round, and I bet that the Packers have one of the best 4th round success rates in the league over the same time period. As for Sternberger, does anyone even care if he is on the PS? I sure don't. I think I would rather work with the current guys over Sternberger. I'd love for him to be on the practice squad. See if he matures. He's a lottery ticket. And we very well could lose Tonyan next year and be left with Lewis, Deguara (who is often injured) and Daffney. Wouldn't mind adding another body to that group, especially one who knows the system.

Leader
Our top 3 positional needs coming into that draft were EDGE, Safety and Tight End. Take your pick which you felt was more important or which players would be there when it was our turn. We selected EDGE and Safety first and Sternberger was identified as one of the best TE's after the Hockensons and Fants - just needing more work. The TE selection didnt pan out like we'd hoped - but we were true to our positional needs. Edited September 21, 2021 by Leader

GB didn't have 3rd rounder's in 2015, 2012, or 2013. There were some nice 3rd rounders by TT prior to 2011 with Burnett, Finley, James Jones. Like I said, it's not good, but much better when one considers those details. Hopefully Amari and Deguara help it look better soon for recent times too. It’s pretty arbitrary. Considering that the chances of a late 3rd-round being a *good* and consistent starter is like 15%, 10yr isn’t a big sample size to be fretting over. And with the way they’ve hit home runs with 4th & 5th rounders, tunnel-visioning on the 3rd smacks of cherry-picking. Fans would have no problems if GB picked the same players, but swapped the ones they took in the 2nd w/ the ones they took in the 1st, and swapped ones they took in the 4th/5th with ones they took in the 3rd. Video-game-esque stratification. The real world isn’t so clean.

How many players picked from 2005-2010 are still in the league, you know? Is it really consider its two different GMs making picks on the time span and they didn’t pick in the 3rd round 30 % of those years?
