notthatbluestuff
His team is winning handily but Allen's performances haven't been through the roof considering his ginormous contract. Will he hit the heights of last year or is his play part of an expected regression?

I think there was always a regression to the mean that was going to happen with Allen, particularly in regards to his comp% He definitely missed too many throws, especially in the first two games, but I think there is a pretty clear deliniation between the first two weeks and the recent two weeks, in which he has looked much more himself As far as bulk stats goes, we're also running the ball WAY more often and effectively, which is taking away from some of his chunk yardage, but to me the two things to watch are (from a stat perspective) his Comp% and (from an eye perspective) missed throws. Weeks 1 and 2 he was definitely below average starting QB quality. Weeks 3 and 4 he is right where you've come to expect from Josh Allen tl;dr, its too early to be super worried, but its worth keeping an eye on. I think his early struggles seemed more like new season/new contract jitters which he has since worked out and trying too hard as opposed to a genuine long term issue, but if it keeps popping up as inconsistency it could be a red flag
bigbadbuff
Not worried at all. The first two weeks were rough but he’s been 2020 esque last two weeks. Also been routing opponents and taken the foot off the gas late, so that factors into it as well as one game was windy af and one was a complete rain storm. If this is regression I will take it but I don't think any Bills fans are worried. In week 3 and week 4 he's looked like 2020 Josh Allen and the Bills are about to hit a lot of not great defenses. Bearerofnews
He is finding his stride again. But he needs to beat KC. Baker failed, Lamar and Herbert got it done. If ya want to be an AFC player, ya need to beat Mahomes and the Chiefs. Maybe that's unfair, but that was the benchmark when Brady was in the AFC and right now KC and Mahomes last couple years have set that benchmark. Next SNF is gonna be big.

Yeah I was a little confused by the thread since Allen has 1 more TD than Herbert, 1 less INT with 100 less passing yards and has the #2 scoring offense in the league. I agree though Josh needs to beat KC in the playoffs, big difference. It is cool Lamar and Herbert beat the Chiefs in week 2 and 3 of the regular season but none of that matters in the big picture. The AFC still runs through KC. Agreed again that this is a huge game (that I'll be at) and Allen has to have a good game (300+ yards, 3+ TDs) which I think he will. I think those numbers are SLIGHTLY misleading - in the sense that it has been a tale of 2 seasons Weeks 1-2.. 56%, 449 yards, 5.3 YPA, 3:1 Weeks 3-4.. 72%, 606 yards, 8.4 YPA, 6:1 The first guy is below average, the second guy is elite. That is not the same as being "pretty good" over the course of the 4 weeks. The aggregate in this case is not a great representation of his performance to date If the recent trend continues, its great. If we keep bobbling back and forth between the two, then its time to be concerned, even if the final statline is acceptable
SBLIII
Allen has sucked from a clean pocket through 4 weeks. It's nice that the Bills have the top scoring offense right now but that's like Patriots 2019 style and feasting on terrible teams and creating turnovers. He needs to step his game up for the Bills to win the AFC.

Dude would've put up 400+ yards and more than 5 TDs vs the Redskins had he played the whole game, but it was a blow out, so why risk injury? He was murderous against them. He was good last week, too. One bad INT during the height of the rain storm doesn't sway my opinion one bit. He would've likely hit 300+ yards passing that game, too, had he not been pulled early due to the score. Will he improve more? I don't know. I think he'll always be a top-5 QB in the league. I guess there's potential for him to be unanimously in the top-3 of any given year. Either way, two bad games + being pulled early in two blowout games makes his stats so far look pretty subpar, but that's what happens when you're working with a small sample size. Trentwannabe
He certainly has room to improve. I mean doesn’t everybody? I’m not worried at all about him or the offense in general. Week 1 was a perfect storm so to speak and despite some sloppy play in week 2, the offense still put points and has mostly been humming since. Judging by what other offenses have done to their defense, there is no excuse for the Bills not to score at least 30 points. Chiefs not once but twice haunted the Bills offense last year so if it happens again, It’s pretty clear they are their kryptonite.
