I don't see it that way, unless they were to trade him before his injury.  IMO after the injury he had little trade value. We are talking major leg injury to a 31 year old CB that's skills were staring to diminish and who carried a 7 mil CAP HIT.

EX Cowboys can they afford to tie up 7 mil for a player that will give you (maybe) 1/2 season. Who might not be worth it,  if he lost his skill level.  Big gamble.

PS  I would not trade him before injury. Also we all know how Gambles work out!!!! Can you say Brown and Gorden!!!

I’m really bad with roster building and roster economics etc, so I may need someone to explain things to me…

 

why haven’t we traded him instead? Why is it not a bigger saving now we’ve released him? Why has he been released, does bb think we are set there?

BB must have thought that he would agree to a restructure which he did not.

anyway we should have traded him last year
