incognito_man
Mahomes contract breakdown (meaningful years) 2020 - 5.3million cap hit 2021 - 7.4 2022 - 35.8 2023 - 46.8 After 2023 it becomes a team option every year with a $10million dead cap hit (vs $44million contract in 2024, 4 million dead cap vs 46million contract in 2025 and no dead cap there after) It's actually very team friendly. Chiefs just kinda suck right now Edited October 11, 2021 by incognito_man

Chiefs just kinda suck right now Given his age and (I suspect) KC's intention to hold on to him till he's in a wheelchair, they can make numerous adjustments to the above road map to fit the team/league cap situation. They paid their star players and there wasn't enough money to sign quality offensive linemen. They paid: Wilson, Sherman, Thomas, Chancellor, Wright, Wagner, Baldwin and the DE who had to retire early due to a neck injury. And how long ago was that? Like they maybe all need a fresh start (ala McCarthy) to get back that magic but look at their last 5 draft classes. The only stand outs are: 2019: Dk Metcalf (2nd) 2018: Michael Dickson (5th) 2017: Chris Carson (7th) like 2010-2012 they had arguably the best drafts: they got Okung, Thomas, Tate, Wright, Sherman, chancellor, Irvin, Wagner, Wilson.... but that was a decade ago now. St Vince
Man are there any dominant defenses this year? Edited October 12, 2021 by St Vince
PackFiend
Niners are looking like one year wonders at this point. Kittle on IR, Jimmy G has been banged up, now Lance might miss some time. I think they have a few others out too. Team is already 2-3. Your time at or near the top of the NFL can end very quickly indeed.

PackFiend
Mason feels a lot better seeing these other usually reliable as hell kickers missing badly too.

Refugee
Baltimore is more than a handful and Indy is a dangerous 1-4 team. We have a long way to go before we play the Ravens but it will not be an easy out.
