  1. 1. According to Spotrac, these two players have the NFL's longest contract and the league's highest cap hit this year, respectively. Who has it better?

    • Vikings DT TJ Smith: 128,800 years
      2
    • Chargers DT Breiden Fehoko: $2,147,483,647 salary this year
      4

It's a battle of two titanic defensive ends: Breiden Fehoko, who has the league's highest cap this year with upwards of 2 billion, or TJ Smith, who is slated to be paid for the next 128,800 years, according to Spotrac.

Option B. TVM all day

This is hard, because idk of a PV calculator that can calculate 128,800 years.. even excel breaks far before that

But put it this way.. Unless the dude is immortal, take the lump sum

The payback period is insane due to TVM/inflation

2 billion is nothing to sniff at. But at least with a 128,000 years long contract, maybe the money won't be squandered away as quickly?

Inflation, man. 128,799 years from now when Fehoko is in his 70s or whatever age he will be at that point, he is till going to be making more per year on his while that jackass TJ Smith is going to still be getting paid in a long since defunct currency. I don't know what he was thinking signing that deal.

UNLESS that 128,000 year contract is being paid in Bitcoin.

Then that's like - I dunno, a quintilluon-drillion dollars. Or it'll be worth $0.32; could go either way with Bitcoin.
