Week 5 General Discussion Thread

Recommended Posts

I got home and saw that Chase Young managed a sack today. And the way it unfolded could not have been more predictable. I have mentioned numerous times dating to his final year at Ohio State that Young is not explosive enough around the edge by NFL standards. But he is terrific at taking a few steps, standing up the tackle, and crashing inside once he senses the quarterback is stuck in the wash. That's exactly how it played out against Winston today. But that scenario is considerably less frequent in the NFL than college.

Young is underachieving right now. He'll pick up. The mistake was to take his rookie season and project to the top of the league. There was a reason he refused to do all those explosiveness drills that correlate to edge rusher success.

We may win this game, but it's costly.  Lost TE for year, Hudson hurt and Kyler hurt throwing arm.

Always better to be lucky than good, especially in the Not For Long league.

Depending how seriousl the latter injuries are, could be season over for us and we just don't know it yet.
