What even is the timetable for recovery on something like this? Very rare injury in the NFL.

depends on the damage TBH

Three main organs I can think of, vascular system, spinal cord and wind pipe.

If it is vascular damage, emergency surgery, season Id guess, try and survive. A cricketer was killed 5-6 years ago when he got hit in the neck by a fast ball, artery disection and then bleeding into cranium causing brain death.

Spinal cord, very similar, less life threatening immediately.

Wind pipe, emergency surgery and life threatening at the worst., should be able to manage it.

these are worst case scenarios, obviously.

I feel like this dudes headed down a dark path of injuries. Dude needs a better Oline and to learn how to go down. I didn’t see the play so idk what happened. But man does he get beat

Jamar Chase said after the game that Joe knows how to slide, it's just that he is stubborn. I'm thinking Coaches have told him to slide as well, he just doesn't trust that OL and bailed out of lot on Sunday.
