Gruden got super conservation instead of putting his foot on their neck when the offense was rolling to a big lead. Yeah, he didn't allow the offense to ever really open up in tight battles either. We'd open up and throw up big numbers when fighting from behind, but it was rare that we played fast and loose early. Our offense should play like we played the Saints in the Vegas opener last year. But too often we were stuck letting people battle back or going all out to catch up.

He has a good history of using TITAN INS well and working well with quarterbacks. Also expect to see a lot more play action. That being said it's still going to be Gruden's offense. That is something to keep in mind A lot of the offense is from Olsen. He drew up a lot of the plays for JG. Unless you know how to run and offense with no Oline, it's moot regardless

Do you expect more play action because I remember when Derek Carr was a rookie they ran a lot of that. Maybe a little more spread too
SBXISBXVSBXVIII
If they're moving the ball all game and scoring points, wouldn't that take time off the clock too all the while padding their lead and not letting the other team back in the game by going conservative? NYRaider
I was listening to someone that covers the Cowboys talk about Rich and felt better about the rest of the season. He said that a lot of people were upset when Gruden poached him from Dallas' staff where he was the special teams coach/assistant head coach for years. And described him as a coach that's just going to come in and get to work, he's not a raw-raw motivational speaker but he's a no non-sense leader that will have the team prepared.

I have no problem with that. Sunday will be very telling

NCOUGHMAN
I don’t think rich will work he’s arguably gruden’s best friend and they’ve known each other for decades. We need to start from scratch with this

Come on now

Imagine if the team comes together under Goldberg and DC and makes a playoff run.... You never know, the training wheels will be off. Olsen is just there, and Goldberg is there for stability. DC going have a chance to show what he can do if he is in total control

It depends because say they go three and out passing the ball it stops the clock. It would be the equivalent of the other team calling three timeouts.
