So Snyder's had Taylor's jersey in his office behind a "in case of emergency, break glass" sign for 14 years and it's finally time.

On the plus side, this is probably his last real defense mechanism...

... probably.

Even with this - all this really means is Jeff Bezos is THAT much closer to making his NFL debut.

The cynic in me thinks they held on to this for 13 years to use at the right time when they needed a distraction.

Eli and Strahan both are having their jerseys retired this year. They were both announced MONTHS in advance with a lot of fanfare. I know every team is different, but that feels like more of the norm for a jersey number retirement than this.

I loved Sean Taylor...don't get me wrong. But getting his number retired? There is so much walking on egg shells and political correctness right now that it really is nauseating.

this isnt political correctness. its desperation. WTF is saying "hey look at this great thing we did that did that you should pay attention to. ignore what might come out"

also, nothing wrong in general about retiring his number. what do you mean about walking on eggshells and politically correctness? That WTF should just release all their emails (instead of walking on eggshells), and everyone should just be cool with what they read?

Just saying that this looks so forced that it's actually pretty insulting toward Taylor. It's like the Redskins are saying "squirrel" or "we promise we aren't bigots because we retired Taylor's jersey"
