That's what made him so good as Daario lol

He was an elite soldier, ladies man and a total cockbag and he knew it.

Yep that’s his whole character. The replacement version in the show is compassionate and empathic and just comes off as weak. And his monologue about his upbringing was pretty much just Strong Belwas repurposed. Dany and new Daario don’t have the same magnetism that she had with old Daario

I just finished season 1 of Better Call Saul. Real good season overall with only a couple down spots. While I'm enjoying the slow birth of Saul, hopefully it isn't too much longer before the transformation is complete.

Hang in there. It gets exponentially better. I believe you will be very impressed with the show as a whole.

Just finished season 2 of Better Call Saul. I think I liked season 1 better. I'm over the Jimmy/Chuck feud. I wish they'd just part ways in some fashion. Their continued relationship makes little sense after Jimmy found out that Chuck has sabotaged his entire career at every stop. Hopefully that's resolved in season 3 (don't tell me). I also find it annoying how Jimmy will do illegal/immoral things but then sabotage himself with confessions or intervening where he doesn't need to.

Mike's story was the best part of the season imo. Honestly, at this point I wouldn't hate if the series focused on him -- but sadly the show isn't Better Call Mike. I'm just that tired of Chuck. Still wish they'd hurry up with Saul. We got the ring and some of the suits so far, now give me the character and his court cases.

I just looked up season rankings and I see that 2 is generally the lowest. So that makes me feel better going forward.

I just finished S3 of Jack Ryan. Opinions below.

Spoiler

Honestly, S2 and S3 are both equally mediocre for me, especially after I watched S1 again and saw just how amazing that entire plot and season was. Here are my gripes with this season:

  • First of all, literally ******* everyone speaks English, even to each other. Russians speaking to each other? English. Czech's speaking to Russians? English. BUT THEN, the show also casually mixes in their native tongues whenever they want to say some stupid saying or something?! WTF is going on with this? Easily the most annoying this of this entire season compared to S1, where everyone spoke in their native tongue and the language barrier was an actual thing.
  • Jack Ryan has gone from a CIA Analyst to an actual Supersoldier in 2 seasons, which is just kind of stupid to me. I mean this guy comes in with a SEAL Team and just casually LEADS them on a mission? Nah, there's just no way. Jack Ryan is a CIA Field Officer, not a freaking Terminator, but here we are in a world where Jack Ryan is now effectively the terminator.
  • Watching John Krasinski run when he's being chased by the FBI people through the town was hilarious because you can clearly see that he's not a fast/natural runner but it still out running an entire squad of people, and then Mike, who is actually like 65 years old, also out runs them!? Come on, man...
  • The gunfight scene at the start of the show was incredibly weird from an audio perspective. The guns sounded very muted, generic, and "bass"-filled, which was kind of weird.
  • The black CIA director lady was not a believable character at all and I didn't think she was a "badass" for one single second. Her entire character seemed forced and unnatural.

Overall man, this entire plot was so generic. "Oh look Russians want to return to the soviet era and they've built a nuke and want to use it". Like we've seen this a million times. It's literally the plot of Winter Soldier. Furthermore, I had no interest in any of the Russian characters at all because, again, they all seemed to generic and bland. Even Jack Ryan's character in this season is so mundane and boring. There's no personality, charm, wit - it's just Jack being a terminator and that's it.

I give this season a 3/10. Doesn't even come close to sniffing S1, and this show is going downhill so fast. Should've known better when I saw Michael Bay attached to it.

I didn't even notice that Bay was attached, but it makes more sense now.

Spoiler

My first thought was that it was just a slightly different variation of Sum of All Fears. The language thing bugged me as well. They should've had Russians speaking Russian with it transitioning to English mid conversation; I wish I could remember the great example I'm thinking of. This isn't really a subtitle show and this season had the potential for nothing but subtitles.

I hope they go back to Jack being an analyst rather than operator for the next season.

Season 1 is where everyone spoke their native language and then when speaking to Americans they spoke with the accents. I don't see why they even bothered with randomly throwing in actual russian for little quotes.

I hope they have him go back to being an analyst as well. SEAL Team 6 operator Jack Ryan is kinda lame
