i think there is a covid topic in TAST maybe we should just make an unspoken forum rule to keep it there. like the unspoken rule not to misgender the vikings that was adopted. philosophy should stay

go pack go

Second that. Out of respect for a forum for discussing the Packers, I don't want to sully it by posting opinions on very controversial, polarizing, non-football related topics. There should be a separate room for people who have an axe they can't help but grind on these topics.

Damn.  I guess the guy who used to do our pest control was pretty damn unlucky.  Late 30's, seemed healthy enough (not that I knew him well) when he caught Covid last spring.  Six weeks later he was gone.

And here we have the ever-present anecdote-that-“disproves”-the-strawman-I’ve-crafted-of-your-position.

So, Davante is out and the line moves 3 points, but JJ out doesn't move the line at all.  Strange place, that Vegas.

Oh they just adjust based on expected bettor behavior. They don't analyze "how does Davante missing this affect the expected results?" They ask "how does Davante missing this affect bettor's behavior?"

Arizona has depth issues. Terrific top notch top end talent everywhere. But they have to be a little worried about the injury bug now. Watt was playing so well too.

Sometimes the best deals are the ones you don’t make. Bulaga, Watt. Just pointing out a couple expensive guys we were interested in but passed on giving a third NFL contract to due to injury history.

Unfortunately the ink was barely dry on Bakhtiari’s 3rd contract when he went down. His loss was acutely felt vs. TB. We’ll see how he returns and plays out the next several years. It is a tough business, maybe tougher if you’re sentimental.

Cardinals are top 5 in scoring and passing defense

They're ranked around 18th vs. the run

Ball control is the path to victory tbh

That’s how I see it, even before we took hits at WR. Let’s see how we play heavy vs. their speed. There will be room for some finesse plays but let’s take it to them and hope we get a good bounce or two on defense.

Or - does missing Davante's results affect expectations over bettor's behavior? :)

While this is true on the timing of Bahktiari injury.  Both Watt and Bulaga had a longer history of injury compared to Bahktiari.

I see them as vastly different situations

False. People have had the chance to get it if they want. That effectively makes things no worse than a cold for them. If you were not sticking your boot on throats over the common cold 3yr ago, you should not be doing so now. Comparing this to smallpox or polio is stupid. These vaccines do no prevent transmission.

There absolutely are freedoms being flushed down the toilet this moment. You must be living under a rock. Millions of people have had their businesses shut down or been laid off, including thousands of health care workers. Newsflash... it takes money to pay for food and pay for surguries and other medical treatments. People are being censored on an enormous scale. To say otherwise is willful ignorance.

1. Why is comparing Covid to smallpox stupid? Covid has a significantly higher mortality rate than smallpox. The difference between COVID and Smallpox is that Smallpox predominantly infected children and left disfiguring marks.

2. The vaccine absolutely prevents transmission. It doesn't prevent transmission absolutely, but the likelihood of someone vaccinated spreading it is SIGNIFICANTLY less than someone unvaccinated. Like 95% less. The unvaccinated are less likely to contract as the virus is far less likely to land in the throat/lungs and propogate, and in the case of propagation, their body is more able to fight it, so symptoms are far less and don't last as long. Both factors significantly contribute to less spread.

3. The Covid vaccine is different than the Smallpox or Polio vaccine, you're absolutely right. It's far safer. The risks of a Cutter Incident happening with an mRNA vaccine is zero. The Moderna vaccine doesn't even have deactivated virus in it.
