Leader
ESPN Stats & Info - There are 31 players in MLB history that have produced at least 100 career WAR. Three of them are not in the Hall of Fame and they were all on the 2022 ballot (Barry Bonds, Roger Clemens and Alex Rodriguez).
redsoxsuck05
Most of all, I just wanted Barry, Manny being Manny, Rocket throwing a bat at a well-deserving Piazza, Schilling being introduced by My Pillow Guy, and A-Rod being generally annoying.
Mesa_Titan
It's so funny that these guys keep some of the best players ever out of the HOF because they didn't kiss the voters rings. HOF voting need overhauled, big time. Being the nice guy is not a HOF requirement. Edited January 26, 2022 by Mesa_Titan

Nabbs4u
This is why the MLB HOF is an absolute joke. The fact Voters with personal Agendas (not just Steroids) can legit keep 3 of the best Players in MLB history even when compared among their peers already inducted, is a travesty! These pricks will undoubtedly induct Pete Rose the year "After" he passes away. That I have little doubt will occur. As for Bonds and Clemens being the poster boy scapegoats hung out to dry for the "Steroid Era" as if it wasn't run rampit with players most likely getting in that were never caught in the future, a GD Joke!
MWil23
Big Papi: Tests positive for steroids but has a big personality Baseball Writers: 1st Ballot HOF!!!! Barry Bonds: The GOAT, rampant obvious speculation, 1st ballot guy without them/before he took them, but he was abrasive and mean Baseball Writers:
MWil23
The same people that dump on Pete Rose for gambling (rightfully so btw) are the same people who think Congress should be able to buy and trade stocks. It's a meme.
Forge
It's a different argument, but that's pretty funny

But they made the decision to hold out PED users long before Bonds and Clemens were up for vote. So it’s not exclusive to them. A-Rod is rubbing elbows with voters now and can’t get in. All I’ll say is, I think they SHOULD be in. But the HOF needs a total retool. You can’t just make exceptions now when you held others out for years. You have to retroactively go back and fix it for everyone or no one. You don’t make an exception for Bonds and then not pave the way for Rose and Jackson. That’s just bs. You have it backwards. Jackson and Rose were punished by MLB. I don't think they could receive any votes as they were never allowed to be on the ballot. The exception has already been made for Bonds and co as they're being punished despite never having a positive test or been suspended by MLB. Mox
The 2021 NL MVP: 1.044 OPS, 35 homers, 5.9 WAR Barry Bonds' AVERAGE season for 22 years: 1.051 OPS, 35 homers, 7.4 WAR Insane. I HATED Bonds and Clemens. Both of them, Schilling, Sosa, A-Rod, McGwire, and obviously Rose are all undeniably HoF players and should get in. Holding grudges like this is insane.
Thelonebillsfan
This is literally the only time of the year where you can get unabashed, unfiltered, positive without any downside PR. The HoF is literally "member all the cool stuff about baseball you love? I member" and instead all we've been talking about for 10 effing years now is "Why is Barry Bonds not in again" and all we'll talk about for the next 10 years is "lmao remember how they put *insert lower tier HoF guy* in instead of Bonds?" Emblematic of everything wrong with the people who hold power in this sport. And why it's crashing.
BullsandBroncos
You guys wanna talk about Bonds not getting in and comparing him to Big Papi... if anything Bonds and Clemens and Rose should've gotten in over Jeter but everyone "loved" the "captain." Them not getting in over Jeter is a huge joke. Edited January 26, 2022 by BullsandBroncos

Manny won't get in for the same reason Others won't. People will always have a problem with his personality. as for manny being more valuable and impactful, I'd only say that about the 04 team. All teams there after, and in 07, Ortiz was the big swinging richard.

Couldn't care less about all this Ryan Braun-esque nonsense to pretend Papi didn't because everyone loves him. Seriously we got Big Papi in the HOF but no Barry? Lmao More like we got Jeter but not Bonds or Clemens who were actually good players lmao
