This is why the MLB HOF is an absolute joke. The fact Voters with personal Agendas (not just Steroids) can legit keep 3 of the best Players in MLB history even when compared among their peers already inducted, is a travesty!

These pricks will undoubtedly induct Pete Rose the year "After" he passes away. That I have little doubt will occur. As for Bonds and Clemens being the poster boy scapegoats hung out to dry for the "Steroid Era" as if it wasn't run rampit with players most likely getting in that were never caught in the future,  a GD Joke!

Honestly at this point if I was elected I wouldn't go. The prestige only follows if the selection process warrants it. If the voters are going to act like high schoolers and not elect people who weren't nice to them then I'd treat it like a high school election. Completely and utterly meaningless

You have it backwards.  Jackson and Rose were punished by MLB.  I don't think they could receive any votes as they were never allowed to be on the ballot.

The exception has already been made for Bonds and co as they're being punished despite never having a positive test or been suspended by MLB.

Nope the HOF specifically put a rule in to keep Rose off the ballot. MLB doesn’t run the Hall.

Once they started dictating morality that’s why steroids became an issue. Nobody cares in football about PED’s it’s just a blemish but not a deal breaker. Baseball has always had this purity thing and it lingered on the PED guys.

Thats why I’m not heartbroken over it. You can’t tell me Rose or Jackson are any less deserving than Bonds and Clemens.

It’s hard for guys who spent their lives dreaming of that moment and sacrificing for it to abstain because some guy who objectively did create a situation that hurt him is being punished (fairly or unfairly).

How to negotiate like an MLB owner:

  1. Don't negotiate for all of November, December, and half of January
  2. Make offer at less than inflation
  3. Increase offer nominally, still less than inflation
  4. Call in feds, cut off negotiations after 2 meetings

I just don't get how there can still be people that are sympathetic towards the billionaires at this point.  At least people that are also fans of baseball.

The owners don't deserve their anti-trust exemption. Let the players negotiate with a party that cares about the game.

The players could 100% form their own league.  They'd just have to take a massive paycut to do it.

That's not the only possibility that I'm asking for.

I'm asking for the players to be allowed to solicit other investors in a new, non-MLB baseball league. That could be the players financing the league themselves, but it doesn't have to be.

I'm curious if the current MLB contracts restrict them to competing outside of MLB, or if they "retired" from MLB if they would be free to play baseball elsewhere.  I would guess there is non-compete language in all contracts.
