The offense wasn't either, but we had a chance late to make it a close 24-21 game until DJax did whatever it was he did. The D proceeded to give up chunk plays all night. Couldn't stop the run, were giving up 10-15+ yds on screens all night, couldn't tackle, couldn't cover, and couldn't stop anything. Once Jackson whiffed, it quickly became a 3 score game and we were in panic mode on offense. But the defense wasn't good at all from kickoff onward. It’s frustrating, but the offense has to control the ball longer to many 3 n outs we were like 1 of 9 on 3rd downs.We just don’t play complimentary ball, always one side not pulling their weight. If heyward picks that ball or Crosby doesn’t have that late penalty things could have been different. Or the Jackson blooper just to many plays we missed. Sure good for them to get it to 4th down but if you give it up you give it up. that’s like saying well we held them to 3rd and 10 so two plays for no yards we did good for 2 out of 3 plays. if they get it, they get it. we gave up 5 tds and 3 more fg attempts on top of that. 8 scoring potential drives. They probably get the TD in half as many plays. Easy to move down the field when there's nary a defender within 15 yards of the checkdown. They were eating up 10-15 ypp on screens and checkdowns all night against our Charmin Ultra coverage....and that's on the plays we didn't miss about 6 tackles and give up 20+.
