Sugashane
Later in the draft I can take the risk with A, but if it is stuff "constantly" happening then you're basically renting the player. For a 5th I'll take that risk without a second thought, you don't get fired for 5th rounders flopping. You DO get canned when your first rounders are constantly busting. If the player is at a key spot I can make the higher picks work too. Tunsil I wouldn't have hesitated to draft because of the mask deal. A DV charge and you're out of the first round for me. It's always going to be a balancing act to me, but ceiling is more important to me than "safe" picks.
Ryan_W
should probably be B take A after they flame out on another team and get released
HerbertGOAT
Just because you're not an elite athlete doesn't mean you can't play. Wayne Chrebet, Anquan Boldin, Wes Welker, Orlando Brown Jr. (yes I am well aware of the fact that he's ridiculously large. He still bombed the combine), Baker Mayfield, Drew Brees, Tom Brady, etc. Hard work, effort, and intelligence can make up for a lack of physical dominance. For every DK Metcalf who pans out, there's a Justin Blackmon who crashes and burns. I'll take a solid player who brings leadership and intelligence over a Pacman Jones type. Also, the specific off the field issues matter. Kids make mistakes, if it's a fight here or there or maybe a marijuana test, eh that's manageable. HerbertGOAT
Also, your grades absolutely have something to do with being dedicated to football. I can't tell you how many guys I've seen personally who were gifted on the field, but slacked off in class and also didn't give a rip about film study. At the NFL level, the mental game is just as important as the physical.
Zycho32
In a vacuum. Gun to my head. A. All the time. He'd have to be involved in some real sick crap to make me balk, especially if he has something almost everyone else doesn't on the field. Those kinds of talents tend to be 'covered' by the league when it comes to social trouble.
