For some reason this sounds more believable to me than the Browns messing it up. Unbelievable I'll believe that when the league office reports it. Mary Cabot is NOT a reliable source, when she is covering for the team she covers.

theJ
So i'm not sure exactly what the procedure is here, but if i were in charge the rule would be: trade stands if both parties called into the league office and confirmed the deal. Don't let paperwork dictate the course of league history.

THE DUKE
Have they said what the reported deal was for McCarron that never was? I would guess a 3rd and a 5th.

TheVillain112
So hear me out here. Browns own the #1 waiver spot right? Technically the Bengals could "cut" McCarron, have the Browns claim him and work out a "trade" that way. Tell me why I'm wrong?

Probably because neither team has thought about it, or the Browns woke up this morning with a hangover and realized what a bad idea the trade was.
